My Twitter has become a cesspool of lefty political drama. I don’t know how this happened. I swear I’m not like this IRL.

A twenty year old car is a lot less beater now than a twenty year old car was in the mid 2000s

I wrote this in August of 2020. There are currently zero sub-$20,000 cars in production.

Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

Caleb Hammer says people stay poor because they’re taking on $800 a month car loans “Everyone is fine with 6-7 year car loans at high interest like it’s normal. The average new car payment is now around $800 a month. Meanwhile, 50% of working Americans make $30,000 or less per year. $800 car payments? That’s insane” “Unless you live in New York, San Francisco, or Chicago with decent public transportation, you need a car just to get to work. So you work to afford the car that gets you to work. It’s a broken system. That infuriates me”

The stop-start engine has become an annoyance to many American drivers, who argue that it makes driving feel unnatural, jerky and unenjoyable. The feature, designed to lower auto emissions, is set to be eliminated by the White House. on.wsj.com/3OqcuDg

In its 2026 vehicle dependability study, JD Power puts Kia just one spot below Toyota, well above Honda. The Korean automakers have really figured it out over time.
