Yesterday we all gathered for the family Christmas dinner. I come from a large family. Each member a unique and beautiful soul. Each with vastly differing viewpoints on a variety of topics, but each raised to believe in the importance of one’s right to hold an express opinions freely. We discussed everything from UAP’s to Middle Eastern politics, and you know what? We all listened to each other and let the other express themselves in return. There were no huge rows, no storming out, just a simple respect for an individual to hold a view. It reminded me of two things. Firstly that the way dialogue has evolved in the media and online is so different and so much less edifying than it was just a few short years ago, and secondly that the small minority of miserly, permanently offended people who demand to dominate the conversation and see themselves as morally superior, are just that. A small minority. Why are we pandering to a bunch of speech bullies who want everyone to be a miserable as they are? The difficulty comes in how does one manage this group of rabid ideologues? Most of whom have had their brains mulched through school and university. How does one take us back to a time when people weren’t cancelled or had premature death wished on them just because they don’t follow the narrative approved by insecure and weak control freaks? It’s like this @supertanskiii woman. She just spits bile at anyone she doesn’t agree with. Has no boundaries at all about where she will go. Wishing people dead in plane crashes, dragging people’s children into a row. Such an angry young woman. What does one do with that level of fury? I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to tolerate this behaviour anymore. I’m not going to waste my life living under a cloud of permanent victimhood and rage. So in 2025 I’m coming after each and every one of you. I’m going to mock, ridicule and offended the hell out of you. Because that’s what you need. If you can’t have a decent discussion, or if your skin is so paper thin that everything upsets you. If you can’t go through a day without having a meltdown about the way someone else lives their life, then in order to assist your much needed reversal of brainwashing, you are going to be laughed at and ridiculed until you get in line and start behaving like an adult. Until very recently it was possible to sit in a room with a whole bunch of people and it not descend into an angry and rather boring farce. So let’s make 2025 the year of comedy and ridicule. Let’s focus on what unites us. Our families, our friends and our communities. And let’s stand up to bullies. That way we can make this lovely little island happy again. Diversity (of anything other than opinion) is not our greatest strength. Despite what our silly king and @SadiqKhan says. Unity is.
