@_sophieox I now have a £500 IPEVO but I get on so much better with a £50 Hue Pro. IPEVO has great zoom/auto focus/movability, but Hue is basically the same if you’re willing to spend 3 seconds focussing it if you change positions. We use cameo on PPT to project through, but Hue app is 👍

@Jo__Leighton Unfortunately not the person to ask! I would fully recommend making contact with your local mosque as everyone is so friendly and helpful :)

@Jo__Leighton Yes, we’ve experienced this alongside not feeling able to partake in music lessons/PE lessons that included dance. We got a local Imam to clarify to pupils that this was not considered Haram in a school setting as it’s for education, not enjoyment. 99% of kids were then fine.

@MrRobHistory I’d lean towards A for time saving, as both lead to the same outcomes the only difference being the searching (as you include the photos on B too). Depending on your students, you could do B and then circulate and silently point out for those not finding them?

Some help with task design please. A new task for my S1 (Yr 8). I want them to analyse more pictures. Which of these two tasks works best A - with the areas of detail labeled on the picture and the task or B where nothing is labeled, and they have to find the detail

Things not measured that matter: Teacher inspires student who later embarks on a uni course and future career because of that teachers subject enthusiasm (no evidence to show at the time) Teacher who helps a student at school who was getting bullied to gain in confidence, in hindsight this is a turning point in their life (no evidence to show at the time) Teacher who is a role model, almost like a parent in the childs life, over many years - this influences who they are as an adult (no evidence to show at the time) Teacher consistently makes kid(s) laugh on days when they really were hating life, helps them through school years (no evidence at the time). Teachers high expectations and routines facilitate the student to have high expectations and routines themselves later in life (no evidence at the time) Wait - seemingly no *value* at the time. All I see is progress 8 this, exam results that. But these things matter. Teachers who do this stuff matter and yet the profession is on its knees because far too many of these teachers leave without a shred of any recognition. Others take it for the stuff that is measurable, but often highly flawed and subjective. Happy holidays.

@MissCatnach Always HelloFresh - I actually now really value the 30 minutes not thinking (just reading and doing) as I don’t have to make any decisions and can just decompress from the day! So worth the money.

Right, I have a genuine question... How do you go to work for a full day teaching and then come home and still find the energy/motivation to cook dinner?! Because all I want is takeaway... It's an issue...

What a weekend for @monopolyrunlive! Being an adult in Scouting is just the best, we set our teams off at 9:30am and then took part as a Leaders’ group. Fab weather and even fabber company. Exercise stats were from 5pm on Saturday 🥴

A ranking isn't the same as a score, Michael. It doesn't mean you're any good just because others are worse. A bit like you coming top in the rankings of Tory Education Secretaries.

@EdadventuresM 100% agree, although as an Explorer Scout leader the reason for the timings I’m sure is down to volunteer availability (home from work, dinner, back out again) and the times the hall is available. Sucks but 2.5 hour sessions will be amazing, very lucky in that respect!

Marthy has left sea scouts now and I’ve applied for her place with the sea cadets but they meet 2x week from 7-9:30pm! 🤦‍♀️ no way can she be going to bed at 10pm twice a week during school term … seems a bit crazy to have a 10-12 yr old group meet at this time. Just me?

Incase anyone feels worried that they’ve not set their classrooms up or not been in work…… This was the state of mine today 😂 All I’ve done is unpack it all and that is as much as I’ll be doing until the inset days 👏🏼👀

Finally getting around to cataloguing all my thank you cards from when I left my previous school last year. Reading them again has broken me. Never, ever, underestimate the influence we have on our pupils lives 🥹😭

First year as HOD. First year at the new school. First year OF the new school. The most stressful, exhausting, heartwarming, career-affirming year of teaching to date. 6 weeks to recover (and plan next year’s curriculum…) and then back to it 🫡

July: We made it! Marked an endless amount of GCSE papers, and now never want to think about the wants and needs of of bus stop users ever again. The kids made block bots from engineering drawings and absolutely smashed it out of the park.

✨ SCHOOL YEAR IN REVIEW 23/4✨ aka, a month-by-month journey through my camera roll. September: Tried to make the most boring part of our curriculum a bit more interesting. However I think I just confirmed for the kids that I’m a bit odd.
