@Red_Rogue55 @AvainAfrica @_ZachFoster Tutu hated Israel. He never denied it.
But there are many black South Africans who agree with me - and have been here to see it with their own eyes. I live this. My own son shared a hospital room with a Gazan kid for months. That would never have happened in apartheid. Sorry.
English

@GinaDShaffer @Red_Rogue55 @_ZachFoster Only those outside of Israel seem to think there’s apartheid there. Bit as we know, she will lecture the free black muslim in Israel to convince him he’s oppressed.
English

@Red_Rogue55 @AvainAfrica @_ZachFoster And have u been to Israel?
Have u walked into a hospital where Jews and Arabs, including Gazans are treated side by side. Where Arabs walk into a supermarket with Jews. Where we can sit together on a bus or train. Just because you hate Israel doesn't mean its apartheid
English

@GinaDShaffer @AvainAfrica @_ZachFoster Sure Gina, if that makes you sleep at night. I also grew up in apartheid SA and I am consistent. Israel is worse than apartheid and you're the one who is disrespecting black South Africans

@AvainAfrica @GinaDShaffer @_ZachFoster You know very well that Zachary is Jewish. Have you been to Iran?
English

@bbcnickrobinson @SKhatibzadeh @BBCr4today So, he basically admitted that they control Hezbollah as well? Did you point that out to him or was this interview only all about how evil Israel is to try and defend itself from missiles aimed at its civilians, including Arab Israelis?
English

Just been speaking to Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister @SKhatibzadeh who has told @BBCr4today that the US cannot have its cake & eat it. Trump must choose between a ceasefire & allowing its ally Israel to continue the war in Lebanon
English

@PahlaviReza Mr Pahlavi, I pray that the Iranians can be finally free of the terrorist regime.
English

The United Kingdom has endlessly appeased the criminal regime in Iran. The Prime Minister speaks of protecting the innocent civilians of Iran but failed to act to help stop the regime’s massacre of 40,000 innocent Iranians in January.
Only an end to this regime - that brings terror to Britain’s own shores - will yield lasting peace and regional stability. Keir Starmer should follow in the footsteps of Churchill, not Chamberlain. He should support the Iranian people’s fight for liberty.
The Iranian people will remember who stood with them in their hour of need and who stood against them. There is still time for the Government to change course: prosecute the IRGC that slaughters innocents, expel the illegitimate regime's ambassador, and act to support the people of Iran.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer
The two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran today is welcomed by the UK and our allies. The goal now must be a lasting end to the war. Alongside our international partners, the UK will work to ensure a return to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
English

@Red_Rogue55 @AvainAfrica @_ZachFoster sit down - I grew up in apartheid and Israel is neither apartheid nor genocide. I remember the white benches and the separate toilets. Even Hamas admit that majority of those killed were combatants. Stop insulting black South Africans who suffered under it.
English

@GinaDShaffer @AvainAfrica @_ZachFoster I live in South Africa and Ava is talking shit. You do live in an genocidal apartheid state
English

@shekinahael @MsMelChen @planefag No, they're not fundamentalists. They just marry 9 year old girls and hang gays.
And so much for the "fatwa" - they had a countdown clock in the middle of teheran.
Lying to infidels is not only acceptable but expected.
English

@MsMelChen @planefag Khamenei issued a Fatwa against nuclear weapons in fucking 2003 you colossal moron. If you believe they're a bunch of fundamentalists, then you'd better fucking believe a Fatwa means more than your supposition. God you're so dense.
English

When Europeans tell you "there was no problems in the Gulf until you started a war," you must understand - they actually believe that. It's the perfect one-sentence summation of both their populations' and governments' sincere belief and foreign policy. They truly think the status quo was just fine, both as it was and with where it was heading.
Europe, after all, was perfectly fine with the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action, which everyone knew only slowed Iran's march towards nuclear weapons and did absolutely nothing to stop their decades-long campaign of regional proxy war, terrorism and genocide - in fact, it funded it. When the US changed course from this disastrous policy Europe created a special purpose vehicle (SVP) called "INSTEX" to evade US sanctions and continue trading with Iran. Nor is this new; the EU passed a blocking statute in 1996 to shield European businesses from US sanctions for trading with Iran and Cuba (and reactivated it after the US withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018.)
Nor do they care about the inevitable consequences of a nuclear-armed Iran. It's not like they don't know that a nuclear deterrent will embolden Iran to double down on their decades-long campaign of slaughter via proxy army in every neighboring state, because that's the exact situation with Russia. President Trump told them flat-out that buying Russian energy was collaring themselves and handing the leash to their enemies, and they sneered and laughed him out of the room - and now that Russia's four years into a major land war in Europe that supposedly threatens the security of western Europe, they continue to buy natgas without batting an eyelash. All while screeching at Trump for having the temerity to ask that Europe pay for the American weapons they want sent to Ukraine, of course.
So it's not simply my opinion that Europe sees absolutely no problem with an Iran rendered effectively invincible by a nuclear deterrent holding both the strait of Hormuz and the strait of Bab-El-Mandeb (and thus the Suez canal) at gunpoint and extracting exorbitant fees for every ship that passes. It's not my opinion that they don't give a damn about China then having a stranglehold on two of the most crucial economic arteries on the globe, which they can leave open for themselves and strangle for others if it suits their goals in a fifth-generational war (or even a fourth-generational shooting war over Taiwan.) It's not my opinion that Europe has no qualms about what a nation that's pursued 47 years of regional bloodshed and destabilization *without* a nuclear deterrent will do once it's effectively invincible *and* has the coercive power to buck the sanctions limiting its operational funding. It's empirical truth, because the Europeans didn't give a single rotten damn about it as regards Russia, and now that Russia's raping, kidnapping and outright genociding the Ukrainian people, they still don't give enough of a damn to turn off the tap.
I advance no argument here as concerns the justice, merit or wisdom of Europe's choices. After all, they're simply pursuing their own national interests. I simply want us all to stop pretending that America isn't doing the same thing by choosing *not* to be held at nuke and nozzle point by its enemies indefinitely. Anyone who wants to argue that a nation with eleven carrier battle groups should have chosen the exact same path as Europe is free to do so - but I feel they're obliged to actually do so if they wish to scold the United States without defending Europe's own choices in this matter.
English

@MsMelChen @planefag We shouldn't be surprised by Europe's appeasement. Truly it learned nothing from WWII.
English

You described exactly what bothers me so much about the European mindset:
The giant chasm between their stated preferences (peaceful diplomacy, human rights, stability, punishing Russia) and revealed preferences (actions that prioritize self-interest, ignoring nuclear threats, paying Russia)

"I've been saying we are not going to be dragged into this war because I say there must be a lawful basis that matters if you're going to commit our service personnel to." -Keir Starmer
Mr. Prime Minister, let me help you find one.
Your own MI5 director told the public that his agency has disrupted at least 20 Iranian-backed plots presenting potentially lethal threats to British citizens since January 2022. Twenty plots. On British soil. Targeting dissidents, journalists, and Jewish communities in London. Your own Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee called Iran's intelligence services "ferociously well-resourced" and rated the physical threat from Iran as the highest the UK faces from any state actor, on par with Russia.
Is that not lawful enough?
Iran International, an independent Persian-language news channel, had to temporarily relocate its operations from London to Washington because IRGC operatives were plotting to murder its journalists in your country. The UK sanctioned members of IRGC Unit 840 for those plots. You know this.
Is that not lawful enough?
Iran seized Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British citizen, and held her hostage for six years in Evin Prison. She was tortured. Your own Foreign Secretary acknowledged it. Iran told her in the first weeks of captivity that she would not be released until Britain paid what Tehran wanted. That is hostage-taking under international law. Your government paid roughly $530 million to get her and other British hostages back. Iran did the same to Anoosheh Ashoori, another British citizen held for years on fabricated charges.
Is that not lawful enough?
Iran armed, funded, and directed Hezbollah, the organization that killed 220 US Marines in Beirut in 1983 and has carried out bombings from Buenos Aires to Bulgaria. Iran built Hamas into a military force and provided over $100 million annually to fund its operations, including the October 7 massacre. Iran trained and equipped the Houthis who shut down Red Sea shipping lanes that carry goods to British ports. Iran armed Iraqi militias that killed over 600 American and allied troops using explosively formed penetrators supplied by the IRGC's Quds Force. Iran committed war crimes propping up Assad in Syria, contributing to a conflict that generated millions of refugees, many of whom ended up in Europe and the UK.
Is that not lawful enough?
Iran's Quds Force, three days into this war, went on Iranian television and explicitly threatened to target Americans "in their own homes." Iran fired drones that struck RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, which is sovereign British territory. Under international law, that is an armed attack on the United Kingdom.
Is that not lawful enough?
Iran has pursued a nuclear weapons program in violation of its treaty obligations, lied to international inspectors for decades, and built the missile infrastructure to deliver those weapons across Europe.
You say you remember the lessons of Iraq. Good. Here is a lesson worth remembering: Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction. Iran has spent 40 years building a global terror network, taking British hostages, plotting assassinations on British streets, and attacking British sovereign territory. The lawful basis was never the problem, Mr. Prime Minister. The will was.
English

@MarioNawfal Since you probably can't even find Israel on a map, let me explain. Hezbollah is on the borders of northern Israel sending missiles into civilians including Arab Israelis. By pushing them to the other side of the river, it becomes a buffer zone and safer to Israelis. End of story
English

@LadyLevnon It really is time Lebanon rids itself of Hezbollah.
English

@EmmanuelMacron Tell Hezbollah to stop aiming missiles at Israel's north, including on its Arab citizens. Peace will come when the world stops siding with terrorists that are intent on destroying Israel.
English

I have just spoken with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
I expressed France’s full solidarity in the face of the indiscriminate strikes carried out by Israel in Lebanon today, which resulted in a very high number of civilian casualties. We condemn these strikes in the strongest possible terms.
They pose a direct threat to the sustainability of the ceasefire that has just been reached. Lebanon must be fully covered by it.
I reiterated the need to preserve Lebanon’s territorial integrity and France’s determination to support the efforts of the Lebanese authorities to uphold the country’s sovereignty and implement the Hezbollah disarmament plan.
English

@FranceskAlbs Go back to South African apartheid please. There were toilets, benches, hospitals, buses only for whites. You know full well that Israel is not an apartheid state. 20% of Israelis are Arabs will full rights. SA didn't have terrorist states intent on murdering it.
English

The world finally sees the true nature of an Apartheid state that has terrorized, displaced. executed, jailed and tortured millions of Palestinians for decades. Israel won’t stop until States and people force it to stop.
#StopArmingIsrael
#NoTradeWithIsrael
English

@caitoz And it's people like you, with your idiotic statement, who remind us Jews why we in fact actually need an Israel.
English

@Amockx2022 Yes - "good job" Pedro for standing with a regime that marries underage girls, kills 30k of their own protesters, hangs gays and prosecutes women for showing their hair. You really are showing us your true colors now.
English

BREAKING : Spanish PM 🇪🇸 Pedro Sánchez gave SHOCK to Trump with his courage 🔥
🇺🇸 Trump at 10 AM –– "We are going to withdraw support from NATO nations which didn't help me against Iran"
🇪🇸 Pedro at 10 PM –– "We are going to reopen Spanish embassy in Tehran, Iran 🇮🇷 to help them achieve peace and stability. We don't fear any retaliation"
No amount of threats and warnings are working against Pedro Sánchez 🫡
English

@mehdirhasan Tell your Hezbollah friends to stop sending missiles to Israeli civilians, including in Israel's Arabs, and tell Iran to stop funding them. Maybe, just maybe the Lebanese won't be hijacked by your jihadists and will have peace with their neighbors.
English

@AvainAfrica @_ZachFoster Or ever been to apartheid south africa!?
English

@_ZachFoster Seeing as you’re a Mexican from Mexico, have you ever been to Israel? Heck, have you ever been to Palestine?
English

@kaysexwale @_ZachFoster @ICAbern You were probably too young to remember the benches and toilets for "blacks and whites" in apartheid. Go visit Israel and you won't see apartheid or genocide. Arab Israelis are 100% citizens with full votes. Stop insulting the suffering the blacks went through in apartheid.
English

@_ZachFoster @ICAbern Genocidal apartheid Israel is far more appropriate. We South Africans support your call.
