We have a powerful solution to address the issue of donor dependency: rising beyond it. We touched on this topic earlier this week. Follow up, here: zoom.us/webinar/regist… I have witnessed firsthand the dangers of donor dependency in nonprofits. While initial funding can propel our missions forward, overreliance on external donors stifles innovation and sustainability. Why?: When organizations depend heavily on a limited pool of funding sources, they risk losing their autonomy and ability to adapt to community needs. This dependency can lead to mission drift, where priorities shift to align with donor interests rather than the actual needs of those we serve. I have said this many times, and i will repeat; it’s crucial for non-profits to develop diverse revenue streams, empower communities, and foster resilience without compromising our core values. To my young change makers, I know I may be a bit of a nag, but please allow me to express my thoughts. You’ll appreciate it in the long run! Sometimes,'obukadde magezi'.

INGO App!! Coming Soon!! What started as a temporary decision to stay afloat financially and mentally is soon becoming something much bigger. Behind the wheel, I met people from all walks of life. I listened to their stories. I heard their fears about safety. I saw how many women wished they had a female driver. And I met female drivers who were underpaid, undervalued, and invisible in a male-dominated industry. It was during those rides that a vision was born, a dream to create more than just a transport service. I wanted to build a platform that: ✅ Ensures safety and trust for passengers ✅ Creates fair, dignified work for women drivers ✅ Transforms transport into a tool for gender equality Today, that dream is becoming reality. I’m beyond proud to share that INGO App, a women-led transport platform, is COMING SOON. It’s not just an app. It’s a movement for safer rides, empowered women, and more inclusive cities across East Africa. We are inviting partners, investors, and tech experts to join us in making this dream a reality. @unwomenuganda

BACK ONLINE TO INSPIRE, COLLABORATE AND IMPACT!!! After 15 months of intentional silence on here because I chose to be fully present where it mattered most: in communities, boardrooms, classrooms, and quiet moments of reflection while serving YALI. I return to this digital space renewed, recharged, and ready to connect, share, inspire, and collaborate. During this time, I’ve: •Led and co-created programs/campaigns empowering youth and women across East and Southern Africa. •Enabled the transition young initiatives into sustainable, independent organizations through my leadership. •Conducted risk management trainings, and policy dialogues to strengthen systems. •Celebrated wins, learned from setbacks. Grew in silence (crazy transitions) etc In a world of fast scrolls and short attention spans, I still believe in thoughtful leadership, meaningful youth engagement, SRHR & Gender justice, and impact that lasts. Let’s keep building. Let’s keep rising. #Leadership #YouthVoices #GenderJustice #SRHR
