A Kenyan philanthropist, Ndungu Nyoro, rallied support to fund the education of a South Sudanese girl, Adol, after her story went viral on social media. Adol, a refugee in Kenya, scored 62 out of 72 on her KJSEA exams but couldn’t afford secondary school. Following Nyoro’s post, Kenyans donated toward her fees, raising enough in under two days for her admission. Nyoro later praised Adol’s intelligence and determination, calling her a future leader, and encouraged ongoing support for her education. Her journey from South Sudan to Kakuma refugee camp has inspired many, underscoring the impact of community backing and the value of education.

At some point, we are going to have to publicly vouch for a leader we believe in and for me that person is former Chief Justice David Maraga. And this is not about who is trending or making the most noise. It’s about what actually makes sense for this country right now. We are dealing with a system that is broken at the core. Corruption has become normal. Public money disappears with no consequences. Institutions that are supposed to protect us have been captured. And every election cycle, we are given promises that sound good but change nothing. What stands out to me about Maraga is simple, he is not selling us miracles. He is saying, fix the foundation first!! ~Rule of law. ~Respect the constitution. ~Independent institutions. ~Actual consequences for corruption. That might not sound exciting, but if we are being honest, that is exactly what Kenya is bleeding from. You cannot fix the economy when money is being stolen. You cannot fix healthcare when systems are looted. You cannot fix education when leadership has no accountability. For once, here is someone saying ,let’s deal with the root. And we have seen him before. When he was Chief Justice, he made decisions that were not popular, but they were right. He showed that the law can stand above power. That matters!! Because what we are missing in this country is not intelligence, it is integrity. This does not mean he is perfect. No leader is. And supporting someone does not mean you stop questioning them. In fact, it means you hold them to an even higher standard. But if we are going to move forward, then we have to stop playing safe. We have to start being honest about the kind of leadership we want. For me, I choose someone who understands that without accountability, nothing else works. That is why I am backing David Maraga.

🚨 Arne Slot: “It is clear that we have lost a lot of points after playing in Europe”. “I have tried to explain a lot of times already why this is but today we also have to give credit to Brighton. In the second half, they were the better team on the pitch”.

I have watched her video and you could clearly see pain in her eyes. Health experts said that this type of challenge is 5 times more lethal than marathon running. This explains why the 22yrs old Truphena Muthoni looks like a 40yrs old who has been going through a lot in life. I hope this will be her last attempt to try & break his own record of hugging muti. She's doing something incredible though,, advocating for the preservation of indigenous trees and conservation of our environment. May Yehova Wanyonyi give her strength to complete her mission & add a paragraph in the Guinness Book of world record.

Now we have it black on white: Kenya was voted by 98.46 % of travellers as the world’s friendliest travel destination in Conde Nast Choice Awards 2025. Kenya beat other tourist hotspots like Mauritius, Seychelles, Barbados, Mexico, Thailand as the most welcoming country. Bravo👌

Mutahi Kahiga has outdone himself in disgrace. Let it be known that he spoke for himself, not for Nyeri, not for the mountain, and certainly not for Kenya. To celebrate death and drag a whole community into your hate is the lowest form of politics. Shame on you @GovernorKahiga

🔴📢BREAKING: Kenya Quietly Signs a Law That Redefines Freedom of Speech Online While the country mourned the passing of @RailaOdinga , State House moved. On 16th October, the President assented to the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime (Amendment) Act, 2024, a law passed in near silence, but one that could speak the loudest in shaping Kenya’s digital future. On its surface, it targets “cyber harassment.” Beneath the surface, it draws no clear line between abuse and opinion. The new Section 27 criminalizes any communication that “detrimentally affects” or is “grossly offensive” to another person. The penalty? Up to ten years in prison or a twenty-million-shilling fine. Now think about that language. What exactly is “detrimental”? Who decides what is “offensive”? A meme? A thread exposing corruption? A satirical post on bad governance? The vagueness is surgical; it can cut anyone, anytime. It sits uncomfortably beside Article 33 of our Constitution, which guarantees freedom of expression, and Article 35, which safeguards the right to information. The contradiction is naked: the Constitution gives you a voice, this law gives someone the power to silence it. The Act even allows someone, not necessarily the victim, to rush to court outside working hours and obtain an interim order blocking your speech. Midnight injunctions for tweets. Pre-emptive gag orders before you’re heard. It’s the perfect tool for those who fear scrutiny but crave control. It doesn’t just regulate cyberspace; it intimidates it. Kenya didn’t lose free speech overnight; it just got quietly taxed. The tragedy isn’t just the timing, passed when the nation was grieving, but the precision of its ambiguity. Every activist, journalist, and ordinary citizen now lives under a law that punishes what it cannot clearly define. What do you think this means for digital democracy, whistleblowing, and public debate in Kenya? Let’s hear your views @AssociatesRoba #CybercrimeAct2024 #FreedomOfSpeech #KenyaLaw #RIPRailaOdinga #Jowi #Tinga #Raila @georgediano @MiracleMudeyi @KensonMutethia @robabdirizak201

Crystal Asige has formally declared her intention to contest for the position of Nairobi County Woman Representative in 2027. Born in Mombasa with full sight, Asige lost her vision at the age of 25 due to glaucoma. She is a professionally trained BBC journalist and a graduate of the University of the West of England, Bristol. Through her YouTube channel and social media platforms, Asige works to demystify disability, challenge societal stereotypes, and share her lived experiences. In her tenure as senator, she has sponsored several progressive bills, earning a reputation as one of the most impactful and principled legislators in the country. Despite her partial vision, Asige has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and foresight,,, qualities that in the realm of public service, far surpass those of her political counterparts. She has better vision than Esther Passaris and Karen Nyamu rolled into one mediocre package. She's humbly requesting y'all to consider her in the race for Nairobi women rep. Her candidacy is a call for Nairobians to embrace substance over spectacle. She has my unequivocal vote.
