@Alan__Shatter Teva has closed or diverted from 20 to 25 sites globally as part of a restructuring plan. It has nothing to do with protests. This kind of "do ye want to keep your job" approach I keep seeing seems quite cynical to me.

@RachelMoiselle I would not condone property damage. I think that is pointless and counterproductive. It should be noted, though, that synopsys provide software and tech support to elbit in the production of military drones, which the idf routinely uses to murder civilians.

Absolutely unbelievable that those of us who have spoken up against antisemitism in Ireland (in a measured fashion as proud Irish people ourselves) have been smeared as ‘defaming Ireland’ and ‘ruining Ireland’s reputation’. I would contend that the extremists who conduct these illegal acts, the fringe news outlets such as The Ditch who seemingly endorse them, and the mainstream Irish media who completely ignore them so as not to jeopardise our national sense of self-righteousness in our alignment with the Palestinian cause, are what is bringing Ireland into disrepute.
The Ditch@wereontheditch

🚨Palestine Action Éire target Ireland-based US software company Synopsys Last year The Ditch reported that Synopsys sent goods labelled as "software" from its Blanchardstown base to the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) largest arms supplier Elbit Systems. Synopsys sent the package in November 2024 to Elbit Systems' Cyclone plant in Karmiel, Israel, which makes parts for the IDF's F-35 and F-16 fighter jets. Elbit Systems supplies up to 85 percent of the IDF’s land-based military equipment and drones. One of the actionists – who took part in smashing Synopsys's headquarters, spraying "Synopsys Drop Elbit" outside the building – said, "There are so many ways that the public have been pleading the government to act in solidarity with the Palestinians and against the genocide for these past two-and-a-half years. "But our puppet leaders decide to turn a blind eye every day and make only symbolic speeches," adding, "We are waging a fight against complicity in genocide and for the life and dignity of the Palestinian people. "We have enough information to target complicit companies right now, so that's what we did. To supply war criminals makes you a war criminal, and to allow companies to supply war criminals and get away with it, that makes you complicit as well."

@RachelMoiselle There have been no protests whatsoever about this decision. The country overwhelmingly supports it. The only people making multiple posts a day on x about this all seem to be zionists.

I agree and this is the sad thing: not only do we love the Eurovision, we have been historically very successful at it! We are drawn with Sweden for the most Eurovision wins and we have had arguably the most iconic cultural moment in Eurovision interval history: Riverdance. RTÉ made a decision for the Irish people to boycott Eurovision. However, ‘boycott’ isn’t really an apt description because they have been providing wall-to-wall reporting on the event. They just removed our country’s participation and took away our opportunity to showcase our own talent, rather than obsessing over that of another country. I don’t agree with the term antisemitic to describe the political campaign by our national broadcaster in this regard, but I do believe it was undemocratic and selfish. It was pushed by activist journalists who evidently care very little that it is clearly against the interests (and perhaps wishes, there has be no high-quality national poll on the subject) of Ireland and the Irish people.
Marcus Fitzell 🇮🇪🇪🇺@FitzellMarcus

@RachelMoiselle Irish people genuinely love the Eurovision. I think RTE shot themselves in the foot here. Not sending an act is one thing, but refusal to broadcast the event smacks of censorship. It'd be interesting to see BBCs Irish audience numbers for the three nights. RTE look really petty.

It isn’t only Prime Minister Netanyahu who wants to phase out, and eventually end, U.S. annual military aid to Israel. For years, many in Israel’s security and political establishments have argued that true strategic autonomy requires reducing dependence on Washington, especially given long‑standing fears that future U.S. administrations may no longer support this aid package (distinct from military sales that Israel pays for). But those pushing to eliminate aid should confront a central question: would the United States lose meaningful leverage over Israeli policy if annual assistance were to disappear? Critics argue Washington has rarely used this leverage effectively, aside from limited moments under George H. W. Bush and, to a lesser degree, the Biden administration. A future Democratic administration with a Democratic Congress could accelerate the shift, potentially ending aid without the gradual, decade‑long transition Netanyahu envisions. The U.S.-Israel relationship would not collapse without annual aid, but the change would reverberate: it would affect military sales, U.S. assistance to Egypt and Jordan tied to their peace treaties with Israel, and Washington’s ability to shape Israeli policy toward the Palestinians and the broader region.

This is who the President of the Palestinian FA refused to stand beside or talk to. Bassem Suleiman a native of Nazerath, the vice President of the Israel FA.
Alex Gandler@AlexGandler

What the guardian failed to publish are the words of the @ISRAELFA vice president: “My name is Bassem Suleiman, a native of Nazareth, the City of the Annunciation, and vice President of the Israel Football Association. My brother and friend, Shino Zoaretz, appointed me, a proud Israeli Arab, for the first time ever to this highly respected position, out of the full belief in partnership, equality, and in our ability, through the game, to further promote coexistence in Israeli society." The Palestinian Authorities chief of FA, Rajoub actions for many years have been a complete disgrace. theguardian.com/football/2026/…

Palestinian FA president Jibril Rajoub refused to stand alongside the Israeli FA vice-president, Basim Sheikh Suliman at the 76th FIFA congress. The first step in conflict resolution is dialogue, building relationships and trust. A small insight into the willingness of Palestinian leaders to directly engage. Rajoub wouldn’t even stand beside his Israeli counterpart. Of course, his principal international engagement is lobbying for support to boycott & exclude Israeli football teams from international competitions. He is committed to exacerbating division not conflict resolution.

I want to live in Mehdi Hamas’ world. A world in which Hamas Gaza did not invade Israel to seize hostages as sex slaves. A world in which Iran’s proxy army in Lebanon did not join that war with thousands of rockets at Israeli towns. A world in which the Houthi pirates didn’t fire ballistic missiles at Israeli families, together with other Iranian militias in Syria and Iraq. A world in which his own patrons in Qatar were not sheltering and funding Hamas warlords as they directed the war they launched on October 7, 2023. A world in which the Iranian regime did not fund, arm, and train all of the above and conduct the biggest ballistic missile attacks in history on Israeli cities. It seems like a kinder, more peaceful world. One in which Israelis were not constantly running from drones and missiles from every direction as the Iranian Axis fought a seven-front war of annihilation against us. The last three years would have felt very different. How can I live in Mehdi’s world?

Hmm, must just be a coincidence that Israel attacked six countries in its region last year. Six.

Happy to deliver a lecture/talk to explain the stark differences between Ireland & Palestine, the conflict on this island & the Israeli Palestinian conflict, the entirely different historical background & the different range of complexities, the reasons why our conflict ended & Israeli/ Palestinian conflict continues. .What do you say Maynooth University Faculty of Social Studies? Any interest in academic & factual discourse?

I see that Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi just gave a talk to an Irish university audience, in which he compared Ireland with Palestine I'm sure the audience lapped it up - uncritically and without the slightest degree of skepticism

What investigation? She crossed the Yellow Line into the military-closed, depopulated, area against all instructions. When she was alive, she wished all her Lebanese opponents death and torture and celebrated the Hezbollah assassination of other Lebanese. Some context, please, senator.

Yesterday, journalist Amal Khalil was struck by an IDF airstrike while she was reporting in southern Lebanon. As rescuers tried to save her life, they were fired upon.

Khalil is the 9th journalist killed by Israeli strikes in Lebanon this year.

I join the Committee to Protect Journalists & others in demanding an international investigation and accountability for her death. apnews.com/article/lebane…

No Barry. This depicts the Iran of decades, of yesterday, today & tomorrow. Men,women & children executed & publicly hung. Many first tortured. Girls & women first raped. The bodies of the publicly hung left hanging on public display. The new capital punishment law, with which I disagree, enacted in Israel as a response to decades of terrorist atrocities & Israelis being taken hostage to effect the release of convicted murderers, will inevitably be set aside by the Israeli courts. A court challenge has already been initiated. It is also opposed by many in Israel. The Iranian courts & its judges enthusiastically promote & implement Iran’s death penalty. Hamas enthusiastically executes its Palestinian critics & the PA prescribes a death penalty for selling land to Jews. But none of that stimulated you to post the below image. Why?
