@mrdoob As an early member of the Macromedia Flash team, I have massive regrets in my life. First, the direction Flash took and the damage Adobe done after the acquisition. Second, for creating the early prototype of DoubleClick’s ad tracking system. I was naive.

Money was never the goal. I hated relying on Adobe (Flash) so much that I felt I had to create a free option for the HTML5/WebGL world. It has not been easy and I've had to sacrifice a few things in my personal life but I think it has been worth it.

I'm repeating myself, but social bookmarking (del.icio.us) was the most useful social app. People would save links they themselves found interesting (revealed preferences) vs posting (often stated) opinions, that's what made it so useful. We need to bring it back, etc

On this day in 1997, @ashofficial released the single A Life Less Ordinary. The song was the title track to the movie and not featured on a studio album. It reached number 10 in the UK charts. Amazing song but so was the B sides What Deaner Was Talking About too & Halloween!

@alexkehr @MKBHD @rjonesy How is any of this going to paper over the fact that this "app" does nothing besides sell wallpapers? This isn't 2007 when these things had to be bought from the telecom because dumbphone OSes couldn't set wallpapers from images directly.

@MKBHD @rjonesy It’s good advice. I would ice Android for now too and focus on a native iOS app. Android sucks for monetization, and it’s easier to focus on one product at a time

Unsolicited advice for @MKBHD: - Put "MKBHD" in the app subtitle! - For your audience, Free option is necessary, but reframe as "HD" and "Upgrade to 4K". SD is never "MKBHD" and feels punitive. - Allow subs the *option* of a blended MKBHD symbol added tastefully to wallpapers - $49/yr will never be worth it *big picture* for *your brand*. $19/yr is probably best. This will follow you forever, already. - Ad-rates will plummet without location. Only collect Coarse Location, explain it in FAQ, and disable for subs. - Make the app native and good, cross platform is not "MKBHD" - Full screen previews, with demo app icons - Clarify 👑 symbol - It's not worth Photo Library permissions to show that I've saved it - Your buttons only work on the text 🫡 Happy to help further.
