@PastorMajorGame @EagleFMNam It would be important to understand what were the outstanding issues from the mutual evaluation. FATF has a website. we achieved around 80% of what we needed to achieve,we are close to achieving all, to come out of the grey listing. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

It is with deep sorrow that I share the heartbreaking news of the killing of three members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society @PalestineRCS in the Gaza Strip. In the first incident, two colleagues, Naeem Hasan Al-Jabali and Khalid Kulab, were both near the gate of the @PalestineRCS Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis when they were killed. Today, Hedaya Hamad was killed at the @PalestineRCS headquarters. These deaths came after several days of shelling and fighting around the hospital. The @IFRC sends its deepest condolences to the families of those killed and to their friends and colleagues at the Palestine Red Crescent Society. Any attack on healthcare workers, ambulances, and medical facilities is unacceptable. I strongly reiterate our call for unwavering respect for the Red Cross, Red Crescent and Red Crystal emblems and the crucial humanitarian services they represent. Our full statement: bit.ly/3UpXKFh

@KateForbes_IFRC @PalestineRCS I really feel for the humanitarian response colleagues in Gaza; and respect for our Red Crescent colleagues. I once read that Amos Oz said: in a situation where each party believe they are right; a higher value than right must prevail: and that value is life itself.

Overcrowding, lack of supplies, fuel, food and water. This is a reality for every operational hospital in Gaza. We must protect these health facilities, civilians and @PalestineRCS staff and volunteers.

@KateForbes_IFRC @UgandaRedCross @ifrc I hope that the malaria vaccine will also get to Uganda via the WHO; and the country’s health authorities; maybe the IFRC can play a role too. I’m excited about the malaria vaccine for Africa. I’m also excited about encouraging volunteerism from the school level.

School health clubs in Uganda help children understand serious health issues in a fun and light-hearted way. This helps break down complex topics, keeps kids engaged, and helps them retain the knowledge in case they need it in the future. Kudos to the @UgandaRedCross and @ifrc for their partnership to help prevent life-threatening diseases, such as Ebola, malaria and rabies. ifrc.org/article/uganda…

Grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the team (#IFRCMaputoDelegation) at our staff retreat. As we near the end of the year, it's crucial to come together, align our priorities, and recharge for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead next year. #TeamBuilding ❤️

@RedCrossScot It pleases me to see that a fellow NS speaks up on issues in their own country, of humanitarian concern. PNSs usually have advice for other NSs, but I cannot always see your voices in your own countries on issues of humanitarian concern there. So, well done @RedCrossScot

We also urge MSPs to better regulate the use of housing in Scotland, recognising the homelessness pressures faced by local authorities and the increase in institutional settings for people in the asylum system.

This afternoon, MSPs will be debating the @SP_EHRCJ report on the Human Rights of Asylum Seekers. We welcome the findings and echo reflections on ways for the Scottish Government to build on its record and strengthen protections for people in the asylum system living in Scotland

Throughout history, women have a major role in humanity, since the beginning of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. I was delighted to meet Ms. Sima Bahouth, Executive Director of @UN_women, in the presence of women leaders from the Egyptian Red Crescent, Dr. Amal Emam, Director of Youth and Volunteer, and Dr. Rasha Al-Masry, Director of Programs and Projects at @EG_Red_Crescent They provided an explanation of the major role of women in this crisis. Thank you so much for all Egyptian Red Crecsent women

@MichaelAdamson5 @BritishRedCross I agree @MichaelAdamson5 about that question. For our strategy we asked: what kind of organization should we be, for the kind of difference we want to make; and as SG: what type of leader should I be to harness all recources internal and external) to achieve the strategic goals.

Last week I stepped down as CEO @BritishRedCross. It was an emotional farewell. I will be quiet for a little while, but the themes I want to pursue are set out in the blog below. What kind of leadership do we need to bring about the big changes we need to improve outcomes?

I’m looking forward to coming to meet you as well, to engage on your humanitarian diplomacy strategy on behalf of NSs at the AU. In return, also to know how we as an NS can support your work there

Remembrance day : ‘Lest we forget’. I remember the innocent fallen Palestinians, I hope for release of hostages; for reprieve from oppression & suffering in Africa; end to disproportionality of retaliation. Let us remember and hope and do small and/or big acts of human kindness
