Scotland’s Coefficient
Scotland’s Coefficient@scotlandscoeff1·
West Ham have been relegated, meaning next season will be the first in the 138-year history of the English top flight without a club beginning with the letter W. Only three letters have been represented in every season of Scottish top-flight history: C, R and H. When Rangers, Hearts and Hibs were outside the top flight, the continuous runs for R and H were maintained by Ross County and Hamilton. Only one letter has appeared in just a single Scottish top-flight season: B - Bo’ness F.C. in 1927/28. Eight letters have never been represented in Scottish top-flight history.

Sections of Scotland’s media went into shock after last weekend’s league decider. It’s manifested itself in hysteria which has ramped up all week. Politicians grandstanding and journalists indulging every wild claim has created a dangerous pressure cooker situation. If this isn’t arrested soon and if the media continues to fuel grievances with unnecessary tabloid hyperbole we could have a situation far worse than a pitch invasion when the league resumes next season.

@TheCelticWay3 And the Lord came down and said unto Noah ... "mind and put your money on Hearts in season 2025/26, for I have foisted upon the two Glasgow brethren a plague of shiteness, which will last for a period of no more than one season"

Nancy spilled 12 points in a month. Hearts are 3 ahead. You don't need an abacus to understand Hearts position is massively influenced by what Celtic haven't done this year. Performed like a decent 3rd place and had the fortune of biblically bad seasons for us and Rangers.
Sarah 🤍@HMFC_1874_

Nancy was in charge for 8 games Martin was in charge for 7 games The season is 38 games Hearts have taken 👇 9/12 from rangers 7/9 from celtic Can we stop this nonsense of blaming managers who had flying visits. Hearts are where we are because they deserve it.

John Robertson says Hearts winning the Scottish Premiership would be a bigger achievement than Leicester City winning the title in England. ‘This is even bigger than Leicester winning the league in England. Up against two juggernauts’ WHAT🤣😳

I’ve been saying it all campaign: the SNP vote is soft this time. It feels a bit 1992 to me - voters are scrunnered with the Scottish government but aren’t yet wholly sold on a single opposition alternative. Expect fragmentation, unusual results (SNP I think for example will lose Edinburgh northern to the Libdems, I don’t trust some of these polls or even the MRP). SNP to land anywhere between 45-55 MSPs. But they’ll be down constituencies net overall.

Striking how soft the SNP vote is in this Election, I keep canvassing lifelong Nats now no longer voting for them. Not necessarily voting for me but scunnered with the SNP and probably staying at home.

Overall, probably the biggest divergence in policy among parties that we’ve seen in a long time. @FutureEconScot will be publishing a detailed assessment of manifestos soon, covering all things just transition. So stay tuned for that!

@MattYou02831366 @L__Macfarlane There's no evidence, just another lazy think tank spouting its opinion. Opportunities gone from net zero? Jobs being created in Spain & China from making turbine components and solar panels, while industry dissolves here? Net zero is no golden goose, once built there are few jobs

@L__Macfarlane Again economically illiterate. Most benefit spending since 2019 is unnecessary. Where’s you evidence for lack of credibility? What are the net zero opps outside govt spending?
