People born after about 1995 cannot comprehend the level of SMOKING EVERYWHERE even in the 1990s, let alone the 1960s. I wasn't there for it by a longshot but 1960s-wise? Mentally replace the water bottles you see in a day with cigarettes and you've ballparked it.

You’d have to wonder if Brent crude oil hit $150 - $200 a barrel if that would be enough of a wake up call to the Australian Government that relying on imports to keep the country fuel was a mistake because if we had our own refineries that could produce 100% of what the country needed, we could contain pricing here in Australia from spiking as it is today…

God I am so angry right now. Why should Hipkins be unelectable? Because he should be IN JAIL! He knew about the dangers of the vaccine and he had us and vulnerable children jabbed! @gaye_ess I believe the New Zealand 2020 election was fraudulent & the majority of NZ 'ers did not vote Labour to give them 63 seats. Immediately after the election results I asked 100 strangers, young and old, in a small town on mainstreet who they voted for. Nobody said Labour.

@Gnote25401476 @OMGTheMess There’s also bio diesel grown from kelp . The fastest growing / regenerative plant on earth. SW,SE Australia has the best conditions in the world to grow kelp. We have all the answers under our feet, but also have a government that isn’t functioning well atm.

Let’s stop all unnecessary tasks using diesel. Redirect all to farmers and truckers. Reduce the excise for those two industries.

@HonTonyAbbott Ze Germans used to make a type of diesel from coal in ze war .why doesn't Australia throw everything at making this stuff .it probably wont be great in the ranger but any diesel motor thats old should be ok

Australia might still be the world's best place to live but we're letting ourselves down big time. Four weeks into the Iran war: 10% of our servos wholly or partially out of fuel. 30% of farmers worried they lack the diesel to sow or harvest their crops. Flights being cancelled. No Australian-flagged fleet of tankers that could be tasked with a fuel rescue mission; with no naval ships capable of helping to break any Iranian blockade; and with no Australian air power yet despatched to the Middle East to help the US-Israel campaign against an apocalyptic theocracy, even though the Straits will never be secure while it lasts. Successive governments convinced themselves that an 'unstoppable green energy transition' meant access to fossil fuels was neither necessary nor desirable. That was always a fantasy, and now we're paying the price. Fossil fuels are still responsible for 90% of our energy needs. The Bondi massacre was a wake up call on social cohesion. The Iran war is a wake up call on national resilience. Dealing with both means recovering the self-belief needed for Australia to stay Australian. Time to face facts on energy.
