Canada's inability to mitigate, contain, and prevent its wildfires must be addressed. These annual fires significantly harm not only our health and quality of life, but also our economic prosperity. I have discussed this situation with our Ambassador in Ottawa, Peter Hoekstra, and have personally reached out to Canadian government officials. I call on the Canadian Government to fully and regularly inform appropriate US agencies such as the EPA as to the status and mitigation action plan regarding the fires. I also encourage Canada to work with the US government to find concrete solutions to address their ongoing wildfire problems. Michiganders must stop paying the price for bad policy.

“Men must be useful. Women need only exist.” One of my more controversial takes is that I am fully in agreement with this bc it’s not an opinion, it’s a factual observation based in biology. The concept of every man finding a woman to mate with is an unnatural social compromise we created to avoid war and bloodshed, and arguably as a hack to accelerate our species progression at a rate faster than biological evolution. Many men are mad today bc 80% of women gravitate towards 20% of men. There’s a lot of anger online in the toxic “manosphere” re exactly this point which is prob the main “hoeflation” argument - that a median distribution woman seeks to mate with top percentile men rather than with another median distribution man. This phenomenon is simply a mean reversion to our natural biological state. Evolution is male-driven, the Y chromosome mutates more than the X, and so the incidence of mutations is something like 4x in males vs females. This leads to far more variance across male population, with the intention for the most suitable genes to be passed on and the least suitable to die out. The mechanics of reproduction also incentivise men to more aggressively procreate (you can ejaculate multiple times a day) while women have to be defensive (bringing a child to term and childbirth and then rearing after is a huge energy / time commitment). Smaller female fertility windows also forces women into mating earlier while male fertility windows are far larger allowing “high value mutations” to persist longer in the gene pool. If you sum it all together, it’s very evident that the rational decision for a woman is to find herself a mate with attributes suited to the society they live in to provide her offspring highest chances of success. So in a society where strength and stamina is prioritised, many women will select for the few men with strength and stamina. In an authoritarian society where authority is important, men in positions of authority will be desired. And in a capitalist society - those with capital, economic or social will monopolise female interest. The men without desirable traits are intended to die off without mating. Men, unlike women, are very disposable in natures design. So if you are a man that can’t find a mate - git gud or accept inceldom as your biological lot in life. The salt arguably comes from our “hacking” of the natural order to evolve as a species that created such tension, to instil an expectation of companionship (other species have pair bonding but no expectation of it) which our natural biology has not caught up to. Contraceptives, which allow us to act biologically but not deal with biological consequences have arguably added to the problem (I actually socially believe in contraceptives but this line of thought makes sense to my currently alcohol riddled brain). Maybe it’s all self correcting in the simulations grand design - and we can simply hit the escape velocity of artificial wombs and state-level sperm selection, which in a slightly dystopian way moves us towards ant colony like levels of social planning.
