Exactly. This is just a case of asking federal workers to do what everyone else does. Fair.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the federal government employees that have to reply to an email with 5 whole things they got done at work last week… I hope they’re able to pull through this tragedy.

@TimRunsHisMouth I wrote to Elon Musk and told him I was retired from the government, and I would tell him ten things I did, not just five. Haven’t heard back yet.

@TimRunsHisMouth My thoughts and prayers go out to my bladder, may I be able to hold it in when the laughter starts at the ones who get fired because they didn't check their email.

@elonmusk @realDonaldTrump If you can’t respond to an email during working hours, then you have no business being a government employee.

@Mollyploofkins @elonmusk Wrong, not all HHS and Treasury were told to reply. Security folks can't do it. Should have gone through chain of command. I did it weekly for years, through the chain.

@CBulldogTrader @elonmusk We do. That's the entire point. Chances are, Elon doesn't check cameras or gets memos from the janitors at X each day on what they did. Most federal employees have a rigorous background investigation and months of training. This is a simple shake down.

@elonmusk If government employees aren't already providing this information to their managers, how are their managers currently measuring their performance?

@elonmusk It’s very simple people. Your management ask you to do something , you do it There is no room for speculation There isn’t time to waste. Can you handle that 😎

The email request was utterly trivial, as the standard for passing the test was to type some words and press send! Yet so many failed even that inane test, urged on in some cases by their managers. Have you ever witnessed such INCOMPETENCE and CONTEMPT for how YOUR TAXES are being spent? Makes old Twitter look good. Didn’t think that was possible.

I already had a low opinion of many federal workers but now that I’ve seen them all meltdown and cry because they’re expected to provide the faintest evidence that they’re actually accomplishing anything with the taxpayer funded job we’ve given them, I realize that my opinion of them was still somehow too high

@CallVoter @elonmusk So ya wanna eat food with no FDA, meat inspections, wait in long lines at the airport, spend hours clearing customs, cancel trips to national parks? Want criminals deported? Think before you blanket 2 million people.

@elonmusk Mass layoffs. That’s the only way. Nothing else is gonna fix this mess. You feel bad for some good people who get caught in this operation but I’d say 99% of them deserve being fired.

@elonmusk I saw a few on news channels who clearly don't want or need a job. I asked my 3 year Granddaughter what she did last week she listed 12 things!

@elonmusk Ya didn't plan for people being off for 3 or 4 days and not being able to reply, did ya? So they are automatically terminated for being on vacation, sick leave or days off? Glad we were good enough to work with the public through covid, but fired for 5 bullet points.

@martyrmade I've worked for my agency 16 yrs. I have quarterly meeting Ms with my supervisor. Not once did I have to justify my job. Why now? Nothing has changed except an appointment wants to harass me and my co- workers.

I worked as DOD engineer for 10 years. Finished as a GS-13 (out of 15). We had to send an email describing our work product of the previous week, and plans for the coming week, every week, for all of the 10 years I was there. People need to stop crying.
Chuck Ross@ChuckRossDC

Every single one of you would be salty as hell if a middle manager just 1 month on the job emailed you on a Saturday asking you to detail what you did last week or else be fired

@Austen There you go, he should have made it due before they are required to start work, and therefore would cost nothing, and accomplish the same result. Most federal employees just make work for other federal employees, or for you or your business.

@Go4schrades @Nats4Prez @lookner @DOGE @elonmusk I have been providing a daily status report for years as an IT engineer. Providing at least a weekly status report is the norm in the private sector. If you can’t spend 5 minutes on Monday stating what you did the week before and still get your job done you should be fired.
