The most Canucks result possible is this:
-Canucks drop from 1st to 3rd in the lottery
-McKenna and Stenberg drafted 1st and 2nd, become stars
-Canucks reach for a centre instead of taking Verhoeff with 3rd pick
-Centre has an ok career as a 3C. Verhoeff becomes a Hall of Famer for someone else.

Sounds like the Canucks and City of Vancouver are close to an agreement to build a practice facility at Britannia Rink. It will include a state of the art gym, off ice training facility, lounge and locker room. The build will also include office space for the city.

My old teammate Paul Kariya was a left handed shot. He used to shoot hundreds of pucks right handed before practices, almost as hard as he did left. It was incredible. He said it tricked his neural pathways in his brain, made him stronger on his stick and made his core stronger. Looks like Nate is trying it too. Even the best always trying to get better.

I actually wasn't aware that Petey hit a new season high in skating speed against Winnipeg.
He's now in the 72nd percentile, better than 2023-24 or 2024-25.
His acceleration is still extremely rough but if he can carry his weight better that'll go a long way.

Take a look at the top speed bursts from Petey this year compared to past 3 seasons. One burst hits 23mph in 2022.
