New research claims human emissions are not driving atmospheric CO2. A paper by Dai Ato ran multiple linear regressions for 1959 to 2022, testing two predictors of the annual CO2 increase: sea surface temperature and human emissions. The result was clear: when the oceans warmed, CO2 levels rose almost exactly in step - about two to three parts per million for every one degree Celsius of warming. Adding human emissions to the model didn't change the outcome. Using only ocean temperature, the model reproduced global CO2 levels with near-perfect accuracy - a correlation of 0.995 and an error of just one to two ppm by 2022. The main factor governing the annual increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration is sea surface temperature rather than human emissions. Earlier studies have shown the same pattern. Temperature changes first, CO2 follows. If Ato is correct, cutting human emissions won't lower atmospheric CO2 because it's the oceans that set the pace.

Real question and I don’t care who it pisses off, why should we vote for Republicans in November? Mass deportations aren’t happening. Most of us are single issue voters on immigration and DHS under Markwayne has decided they would rather appease CNN and MSNBC. Republicans won’t pass Save America, they won’t support the mass deportations we voted for. They haven’t done, frankly, jack shit outside of a tax cut extension. So why? Why push Maine to vote for Susan Collins? Because at least she’s not an admitted communist? In the end, though, what’s really the difference? Vote Republican, get Democrat policy anyway.

Felony car stops are among the most dangerous actions taken by law enforcement officers. State troopers undergo extensive training on various techniques and how to respond in a variety of factual scenarios. You can't turn loose a bunch of ICE Agents and expect them to do the work with the same amount of proficiency. Border Patrol is trained because they do vehicle interdictions at the border. But ICE basically did NOTHING during the Biden Admin. This is uncharted ground for a lot of ICE Agents. They need the training. This is not "caving" to wokeness -- this is teaching best practices to Agents who are not sufficiently trained in one of the most difficult aspects of law enforcement work. Knowing precisely what to do when a car-stop goes bad is why the training is necessary.

Serious question for people who understand economics.
