Chris Finch on maximizing the roster and Anthony Edwards
“I think we learned that like all star players they’re going to have the ball in their hands a lot, but he needs help that we can’t just burden him with having to make decisions and create for everybody else as well as himself. I think he can do that much better from the on-ball spot while still have some primary ballhandling responsibilities. The ball’s going to be in his hands. If you look at offense in the league right now, the natural point guard isn’t there. Many teams don’t have one. So their best players have the ball and initiate offense in some way. Ant’s a hard-wired scorer. That’s what he does. That’s what he does best, and we need to be able to set him up better. And I think his 3-point volume was down because we weren’t able to kind of get him off the ball in situations where he could benefit from what was going on in the offense, et cetera. And likewise, his kick-out rate was down because he was trying to score almost every single time he got to the paint, and we needed those kickouts. So it was a little bit of a yin and a yang from there. That’s one thing we learned about him throughout this season. We just need much toughness and connective tissue. That’s what you’re going to hear me say all summer, and that’s kind of going to help everybody.”

@nthonyedwards Where have we seen the new owners be cheap? And no coach has won more playoff series as the underdog than finch. Not perfect but a very good coach
English

@KevinOConnor *sigh*. He just needs so many things in his favor to stay positive and engaged. Do u think there is any market for him Kevin?
English

Every fan base seems to eventually feels this way about Julius Randle.
Wolves Talk@twolvestalk32
“Not my guy not my problem” is the worst type of contagious energy and I can’t wait until he’s gone
English

@mntwins020733 Disclaimer I’m an Aussie but I have loved the giddey add for awhile. Brings pace and playmaking, might solve the pg spot whilst staying huge as a team
English

@TimGarrisonMN Agree! I think wolves have enough btw if they included McDaniels and beringer. But do they want to
English

@Goat0381 I think this framework is complete BS. If Giannis comes here he either forces his way here or it’s a massive complicated mess.
English

Minnesota cannot trade their 2028 pick. They don’t have a pick in 2027 or 2029, meaning they must have a pick in 2028.
FanDuel Sportsbook@FDSportsbook
It might be time for the Timberwolves to make a SPLASH 😳 Should Milwaukee & Minnesota make this trade to unite Giannis & Anthony Edwards? 🤔
English

@HPbasketball Connolly has pretty consistently said they just want to be in the mix for multiple years and you never know what happens. Wolves also have a younger team than ppl realise with talent - ant, Naz, McDaniels, ayo, Shannon, beringer, draft pick this year - not nothing
English

So... I just don't know if that's the right approach. Like, does that mean trading Ant? Because you may not get a player as good as him for another 15 years. Trading everyone for picks and taking two gap years? That's wasting two years of his career and the Jazz are the only team willing to do that.
I think you try and find deals that make sense to reconfigure while your picks restock.
JMF@jfro2323
@HPbasketball This is why I think wolves need to start over. They have no chance to build around Ant with lack of picks or other assets to build from.
English

@realmnsportsfan If Tim Connolly doesn’t know what he’s referring he needs to make it his top priority
English

The end of Anthony Edwards' postgame press conference last night will live rent free in my head all offseason...
Reporter: "[what's] the biggest thing that's maybe causing you guys to come up short in these series? Like the one thing you are seeing again and again that's making it tough?"
Edwards: "Uuhhmmm -- good question -- uuuhhh -- no comment. [chuckles]"
English

@HPbasketball Wolves fans are greatly appreciate of this run and looking forward to what’s next
English

I really hate how when a team loses we relitigate everything.
The Wolves gave up a bunch of picks for Rudy and he had a bad Game 6 against a better team. They traded KAT because of the CBA for Randle and he had a bad series.
They made two WCFs and got to the second round, for a team that has been a historical joke since KG in 2004, TWENTY years ago.
They built a good team, they couldn't get it to put it together. It doesn't mean it wasn't worth it.
English

@REichten Maybe both points are true 😂 😂 😂 let’s hope for some Connolly offseason magic
English

I disagree that the Wolves window is closed. Their superstar is 24
If the Wolves window is closed, then it’s closed for nearly 28 of the 30 teams in the league
Tom Haberstroh@tomhaberstroh
Denver and Minnesota’s windows closed just like that. It happens so quick in this league.
English

@SwipaCam Naz Giddey Daniels. Braun not ranked. Aussies represent!
English

@SpursCulture Must be odd to see some respect given. U pack of sooks wouldn’t have, would have been the refs, Adam silver, the Supreme Court judge and probably the weather to blame
English

@HPbasketball We know they have moved off building a team to beat Denver if they go smaller this offseason and look for spacing and speed to match spurs and thunder
English

@tomhaberstroh Can we close the window maybe after ant got knocked out round 2 with 2 healthy knees?
English

@xvjijmk @PensareBBall 😂 I’m talking facts. U will see. Good luck though u have a great young squad. Love harper
English

@Goat0381 @PensareBBall Wolves are far more physical than thunder what are you talking about
English

@BrandonRahbar Come on. Spurs fans have said no physical contact is allowed with wemby.
English

@The_Barftender Or how he came from both these knee injuries to play for….Minnesota. And constantly talks about how much he loves his team mates
English

Instead of marveling at Anthony Edwards career AT 24… let’s make another segment about “he needs to leave MN to win”
First Take@FirstTake
"It wouldn't mean anything for him" @realJayWilliams shares his thoughts on what a second-round exit would mean for Anthony Edwards 🏀
English

@Skorzo60 Agree but ayo isn’t the problem or been the player who’s regressed to most at all. Dude had 40 before he got injured again
English

@Charlottean28 I really hope they address the off arm in the offseason. It is out of control!
English

What James Harden did tonight was not basketball. He just keeps fouling with his off arm over and over and over because he can’t create separation anymore and when the defender closes he kicks his legs out.
But, again, it’s a Tony Brothers crew. He knew he could get away with it
Pistons Jack@pistons_jack
Directly in front of an official, btw, been doing it all series
