Suzumiya Haruhi no Choukuretsu, a 2009 DS VN style game is getting a fan English translation! The first patch, covering all of Episode 1 in game just dropped today. I'm only a tester for the group, but they've put in a huge amount of effort! youtube.com/watch?v=faYJnc…

Introducing Duplicitous, more lovingly known as "Athens," who may be the country's oldest living Thoroughbred at the age of 39 💝 Born on May 15, 1987 in Florida, Athens (Buckfinder) ran 11 times and won just once during his racing career before he was retired in 1990 and later joined the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Tactical Mounted Section. In 2002, Athens was retired by the state police and wound up at a riding stable in Pennsylvania. It was there that his current owner, Fonda Dixon, began riding him and called it a matter of love at first sight. She has now owned him for 23 years. "We try to take the best care, but we know the Lord's in control and he blessed me with him. Now I don't know the answer, except for the fact that he has a big heart," said Dixon. In July of 2025, the TDN reported on a horse named New Years Eve, who was believed to be the oldest living Thoroughbred before passing away at age 39. These things are all but impossible to pin down, but Dixon said she has done some research and believes that Athens is the oldest living Thoroughbred in the U.S. “He's just amazing to me and he's amazing to the other people in the barn. They can't get over him. They say that he's part human because he knows when I ask him to do something, even if he doesn't want to do it, he will because I ask him to. He teaches me. He has taught me a lot of lessons." Read more via @BillFinley3: thoroughbreddailynews.com/still-going-st… Photos by @SarahKAndrew 📸

🗣️ "I want people to know that it's all about him because it is. He's different. I do think he's part human." Still going strong at the age of 39, Athens could be the country's oldest living Thoroughbred. @BillFinley3 checks in with owner Fonda Dixon. thoroughbreddailynews.com/still-going-st…

Excited to announce a brand new feature on the site - Japan Power Rankings. A curated guide to the leading horses in Japan across the open division and classic generation, with full expandable profiles for each horse including form figures, trainer, breeding, prize money and next race target. Still very much a work in progress - I'll be adding more horses over the coming weeks along with a dedicated dirt division and 2yo division. This is something I've wanted to build for a while and I'm really pleased with how it's come together. Would love to hear your thoughts. Link below 👇

Yuki Uehara is sending out four Derby runners this year, tying the highest number by a trainer in a single Derby since 1992. And what makes it even more interesting is how young he still is. He does come from a racing family, his father, Hiroyuki Uehara, is also a trainer. But his own path has been quite fascinating. He started equestrian riding in primary school, later became an All-Japan champion during college, and first worked as a vet before shifting his aim toward becoming a trainer. He then gained experience at Northern Farm’s training barns, where he was also introduced to overseas stables for internships, before serving as an assistant trainer under several prominent Japanese trainers. He opened his own stable in 2023, and is known as one of the youngest people to pass the JRA trainer certification. In a sport where stable culture and experience often carry enormous weight, it feels exciting to see a new-generation trainer like him step onto the Derby stage with this kind of presence.👀 Really looking forward to seeing how his career develops from here. news.netkeiba.com/?pid=news_view…

After staring at the sky for an hour, little by little, I begin to see outer space beyond it. And then I realize: “The sky is a curtain hiding the universe.” There is always something beyond what we can see. Every event that brings us sadness exists to conceal something we truly need to understand. If you want to feel happiness, then you must carefully observe and analyze that very sadness itself. I pray for your happiness.

🎥x.com/JRA_WorldRacin… Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) 2026 🥇 Juryoku Pierrot (Orfevre × Happy Value (Zenno Rob Roy)) Race laps: 12.8-11.3-12.7-12.8-12.6-12.2-12.3-12.2-11.9-11.6-11.4-11.8 Anyone used to watching Tokyo races would probably call this a slow-paced, soft race. But there were quite a few horses who failed to settle, and plenty happened during the run. For some of them, this was actually a pretty tiring race. Juryoku Pierrot equaled the fastest final 3F in Japanese Oaks history, finishing in 33.1, and smashed her own previous closing time. For Seina Imamura, this was her first ride in a Classic — and her first GI victory. She also became the first Japanese woman jockey to win a GI. A brilliant ride. x.com/JRA_WorldRacin…

@cocoarini @Athrn30 Like Star Anise had a gap but it was Juryoku Pierrot who made use of it, I honestly don't think Star Anise should push more than 2000m

Star Anise had an odd trip, she started out around 4th for the first 1/3rd of the race then gradually fell further back, I'm assuming to save stamina, but got boxed in as a result. However, I think she did gas out because Juryoku entered the same box and ran RIGHT past Anise and surged straight through. Star Anise had a path but didn't have the stamina left to make use of it.

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO JURYOKU PIERROT TAKES THE JAPANESE OAKS!!!! One of the few talented fillies of Orfevre takes a classic, and she's also registered for the l'Arc! This will be a good justification for her to make the trip now
