ARMY STRIKES IPOB/ESN STRONGHOLDS, RECOVERS EXPLOSIVE, RANSOM FUNDS Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) under Operation EASTERN SANITY have intensified offensive operations across the South-East, decisively overrunning IPOB/ESN strongholds and pushing the criminal elements into disarray. Relentless pressure mounted by the troops, backed by superior firepower, intelligence and joint-force synergy, has continued to expose the group’s weakening structure and inability to withstand sustained military action. On 14 April 2026, joint troops of Sector 1, supported by the Air Component of Operation UDO KA, launched a precision strike and clearance operation in Ajali Forest, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. The offensive forced IPOB/ESN elements into a chaotic retreat, abandoning critical assets, including an anti-tank Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The failed attempt to deploy the device underscores the group’s desperation and declining operational competence. The IED was safely secured by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Security team, averting potential harm to troops and civilians. Troops have since established firm dominance over the general area, sustaining aggressive clearance operations and systematically dismantling all terrorist infrastructure. The deliberate destruction of hideouts using chainsaws and bulldozers has stripped the criminals of cover, leaving them exposed, scattered and unable to regroup or mount any meaningful resistance. In a related intelligence-driven operation on the same day, troops of 82 Division Garrison deployed at Adani in Uzo-Uwani LGA, acting on credible intelligence from the Department of State Services, tracked and intercepted ransom proceeds linked to a kidnapping syndicate. The swift raid led to the arrest of a notorious kidnap suspect, further exposing the group’s reliance on criminality to sustain its collapsing network. Exploitation of the area led to the recovery of a pump-action rifle and the sum of Two Million Naira (₦2,000,000), Cash believed to be ransom funds, from the suspect’s residence. The suspect and recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities, for a through investigation to track other members of the criminal gang. The operation further degraded the IPOB/ESN’s operational and financial capacity. These outcomes further demonstrate that IPOB/ESN elements are steadily losing ground, resources and cohesion under sustained military pressure. The Nigerian Army remains unrelenting and fully committed to annihilating all criminal and insurgent elements, denying them any sanctuary. The NA further assures law-abiding citizens of its unwavering resolve to protect lives and property and urges continued public support as operations intensify to restore enduring peace and stability across the South-East.

No, Rauf. The real scammers are the politicians inside the SPV called ADC. My attention has been drawn to Rauf Aregbesola’s attack on the Tinubu administration at today's illegal elective convention of the ADC—a party of desperados and power mongers who, to date, have not articulated any credible plan for Nigeria. At the event, Aregbesola reportedly called on his former boss, mentor, and benefactor to resign, parroting the opposition’s warped narratives about the economy and orchestrated reports of terrorist attacks in some parts of the country. Unfortunately, Aregbesola did not undertake any honest self-reflection on his own record in public office—as governor or as Minister of Interior. His eight years as governor of Osun State were characterised by unmitigated hardship for the people. Under his half-baked socialist policies, civil servants went unpaid for months, and those who were paid received only a fraction of their salaries. It is to Aregbesola’s infamy that Osun became known as a state receiving negative federal allocation and paying just 20 to 30 per cent of normal salaries. It was worse for pensioners in Aregbesola's Osun State. Many pensioners who relied on their meagre monthly payments died because they were not paid at all. This is the same man who now has the effrontery to attack the Tinubu administration, despite his tenure in Osun leaving a legacy of unpaid salaries, financial recklessness, abandoned projects, and misguided policies that brought the state to ruin. His immediate successor, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, worked hard to clean up much of the mess left behind, and Governor Adeleke is still dealing with the consequences. Aregbesola’s second line of attack against President Tinubu is equally hypocritical. As Minister of Interior under President Muhammadu Buhari, his tenure witnessed the highest number of jailbreaks in Nigeria’s history—including the infamous Kuje Prison escape in Abuja. During his four years, obtaining a Nigerian passport became a nightmarish process, and there were 15 major attacks on correctional facilities in Jos, Abolongo, Imo, Kabba, and Okitipupa, resulting in over 4,000 inmates escaping to join criminal elements. For someone who failed so woefully to secure our correctional centres and uphold his duties between 2019 and 2023, it is ironic that Aregbesola now seeks to lecture others on insecurity. Maybe he thinks the entire Nigerian population suffers from amnesia. Politicians may indulge in cheap talk and easy criticism, but Nigerians must never forget the abysmal records of Rauf and his fellow desperados. Nigerians must remain vigilant, lest power-hungry individuals with no programme attempt to hoodwink them. Because they have no credible programme, they are weaponising the isolated terrorist attacks, as if the problem started from this administration. The Tinubu administration has never shied away from acknowledging that policy reforms have brought unintended consequences, impacting the most vulnerable. However, over the last three years, the government has introduced numerous relief measures to mitigate these effects—including increasing the minimum wage by over 100 per cent, making cash transfers to the vulnerable, assisting small-scale enterprises, and reducing inflation to less than 15 per cent from over 25 per cent at the start of the reforms, with food prices crashing. The government will continue to implement policies to alleviate hardship and support the most vulnerable in our society. On security, the Tinubu administration has been supporting the military, the DSS and the intelligence agencies. The government has been investing in more and more equipment for the military and has sought assistance from foreign governments to battle the inherited scourge of terrorism and banditry. The administration's Renewed Hope Programme is on track and has received global praise. We have seen the effects of how it has increased GDP and our foreign reserves, made our country the toast of investors, and made our stock market bullish and prosperous. No, Rauf, the Renewed Hope Agenda is not a scam. The real scammers are the politicians gathered inside the SPV called ADC.

Update: Do you still remember the recent trending story of a woman who was declared missing in Ilara-Mokin but later found in an Hotel in Akoko, Ondo State? Otipakaso! The woman has come out to share her own side of the story ooo. Watch and be the judge.
Olóyè T.D Esq@BolanleCole

A 42-year-old woman, Olatunde Funke, who was earlier declared missing in Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been found in a hotel in Ugbe-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area, under circumstances that have stirred reactions across the state. Her disappearance had initially triggered widespread concern among residents and family members after she reportedly left her matrimonial home without any prior notice. According to sources, her husband raised the alarm shortly after discovering her absence, prompting fears that she may have been abducted or harmed. Ilara-Mokin and Ugbe-Akoko are separated by a distance of about 124 kilometres, with an estimated travel time of approximately two hours and forty minutes, making the development even more puzzling to those involved in the search. A source familiar with the incident disclosed to Roving Reporters that the situation caused significant panic within the community. “Her sudden disappearance created serious tension. Family members and residents feared the worst and immediately began efforts to locate her,” the source said. However, investigations later revealed that the woman was not kidnapped as initially suspected. Security operatives, acting on intelligence, traced her to a hotel in Ugbe-Akoko where she was found in the company of a 55-year-old man identified as Isa Alaba. “She left on her own without informing anyone. She was eventually located in the hotel with the man,” the source added. Further findings indicate that the woman has since been taken into protective custody while authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her actions and the events leading to her disappearance. Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, noted that the incident led to the deployment of security resources under the assumption that it was a possible case of abduction. “This kind of situation creates avoidable alarm. Resources meant for genuine emergencies were mobilised because people feared a serious crime had occurred,” he said. The police spokesperson used the opportunity to caution residents against actions capable of misleading authorities or causing unnecessary panic, particularly in cases involving missing persons. He also stressed the importance of communication within families, noting that many such situations could be prevented through dialogue and timely information sharing. “There is a need for better communication, especially among couples. Issues like this can often be resolved through dialogue or family intervention instead of escalating into public concern,” Abayomi added.

The United States commends the Nigerian government for its strong commitment to expediting trials addressing terrorism and related crimes. We welcome the convictions of 386 Islamist militants in cases that had previously faced significant delays in the courts, and we recognize this as an important step toward accountability and justice. We believe that timely and transparent legal processes are critical in confronting extremism and reinforcing public trust in judicial institutions. Upholding the rule of law remains essential to ensuring the safety, stability, and long-term security of all Nigerians, and we support continued efforts to strengthen judicial efficiency and fairness across the country.

South Africa is in stark decline, and perhaps nothing illustrates that better than this viral video from 2023, which shows South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa unveiling a tap to a cheering crowd in KwaZulu-Natal. After being relentlessly mocked online, the President’s office made a statement claiming the President travelled to KZN for more than just the tap, and that the video was taken out of context and should be seen as the government’s “total commitment to accelerate the delivery of water”.
