Two listeners—one handling azimuth/direction, one elevation—turned hand wheels to align twin horns on an approaching airplane's drone using binaural hearing. Angles fed into an acoustic corrector that adjusted for sound delay, wind, and air conditions. Corrected bearings then streamed electrically to automatically swing the searchlight beam onto the invisible target. The instant the target is illuminated the gun crews adjust on the target and firing commences.

@eromes123 The only JDAMs used have been against targets in border cities (launched from Iraq or Persian Gulf). No aircraft (except long-range drones) have penetrated Iranian airspace.

Translation: Given that the US has now effectively run out of stand-off munitions, they finally ordered an F-35 sortie into Iranian airspace. The "stealth" aircraft was detected, targeted, struck, and was lucky to make it back to its base in one piece.

By the way, I want to retract that claim of refueling every 18 months. I read that number years ago, but apparently it was very wrong. The CDG uses low enriched fuel at 7.5% u235 oxide, and thanks to its advanced design, it can run all out continuously for five years before it requires refueling.
