Are there any London golf opinions out there🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿? Let’s say Sunningdale Old/New, Swinley Forest, St George’s Hill are the top-4 in the area. What would you say are the next 4 or 5 best/must see courses in the London-area (within ~1.5 hour drive, excludes Kent)?

@YeahClickClack @TeaBar_CFC not played Hankley Common but a bunch of very well travelled people I know rate it as high as it gets in London, purely based on the course

@thepropergolfer Still unmatched course record with some of the most brutal greens in the world, set with PW and "Sand" (58). But sure, we all need 4 custom-fitted wedges.

When I play with friends using modern equipment and I see them hit a PW on a par 3, I say: “Nice shot—8?” Then they say, “It was a wedge.” And I reply, “Nice 8.” #propergolf

Currently enjoying “50 years of golf” by Andrew Kirkaldy first published in 1921. Great tales of life in St Andrews but I thought this short passage was wonderful and as true today as it was then
