@Peter_Nimitz Land acknowledgements are actually beneficial for a security state run by an effete, deracinated elite that only cares about the economy. It keeps the progressives focused on worthless signaling (not wages etc) while buffering against nationalism. Kills two birds with one stone.

In theory land acknowledgments are incompatible with anti-subversion duties, but in practice no one is troubled. Only way to reconcile these is a conception of Canada as an Amerindian custodianship. Provincial bars correctly understand this even if population doesn't yet.

I listened to the NYT interview of Tucker Carlson, and here is what I learned: • He’s a demagogue. He doesn’t actually answer questions. He demagogues and deflects and gaslights and uses whataboutisms. Even when caught lying about his own words. * He is very similar to JD Vance, in that he is a chameleon who changes his stripes and opinions to match what he wants to be at a given point of time. He has few true beliefs or center. * He is a racist, misogynist and anti-Semite. The interviewer missed an opportunity to press him on his so-called differences between the races and genders. That is the true north of who this man is. * These are two hours of my life I will not get back and hopefully I just saved you the time. You will learn little other than he has become skilled at interviews after decades of practice. He is a dangerous man!

If you were pursuing some Civic Good with a local fraternal organization in the 19th century, your path would be paved with positive reinforcement: initiation rituals, feasts, mystery, alcohol & tobacco in abundance (every meeting), singing. And you’d win titles, medals, esteem.

The country employs thousands of people whose sole mission is to gamify something bad for you (apps, games, shows, shopping), yet no one is trying to gamify behavior toward the common good beyond exercise and dieting apps. Well outside of China (and props to the Chinee).

Tucker is my friend for 30 years. We disagree often. I don't care.
After my cancer treatments, deaf and sick and gutted, I was sure I was dying in 2021. We had moved to Florida and Tucker made time to join me for dinner.
That was the first time I heard him say it, in that noisy island bar. “People around Trump keep getting hurt, Caputo. Really hurt.” He wasn’t talking about the President; he was talking about me.
Yeah, I got the cancer. This NYT interview is really intense stuff for me to watch now. Man.

Eg Google has 50 distinct chapters of Pride; Harvard has at least a dozen unique LGBT orgs. Hard to imagine anything more retarded than a country with so many of these organizations that de facto bans culturally and civilizationally important European-American organizing.

Mormons are amazingly dishonest about their faith. They say that the papyri Joseph Smith translated was destroyed in the Chicago Fire, when in fact a large portion of it was recovered undamaged. Enough of it was recovered, in fact, for us to determine two very specific things about it: 1) It was an ancient copy of an egyptian scroll we have other copies of. 2) We know that it was a funeral scroll, and that Smith's translation was bogus - such to the point that even the LDS church now says that Smith didn't literally translate the document, but offered a "spiritual translation."
