@DrChrisParry With a bit of gaffer tape and some 3be2, she'll be ready to sail, likely arriving before a SSN or god help us, a carrier.

Nope, not ornaments. My friend is going through the house where her grandma and aunt lived their whole lives and finding weird stuff. Apparently these are solid and very heavy; too heavy to hang on a tree. What are they

This was found outside a migrant hotel in Derby. It shows how illegal invaders get free NHS prescriptions, free dental treatment, free eye tests, free travel and even free wigs. Meanwhile, we get nothing. 🇬🇧

@YesterdaysBrit1 Jesus don't we need her now. 4 years she'd have us heading back up. No bull, no pampering, no boats, no lazy benefits, yhe streets getting clean, potholes repaired and British people feeling 1st again.

Yesterday's Britain, A Better Britain.
That's because Margaret Thatcher was a real, all-action prime minister. The last, best one since the recent shower of shit the British have had to put up with, since Blair started Britain's downfall.
Brunte 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧@Brunte84

Thatcher organised a fleet of 127 warships and cruise ships within 48hrs ready to sail to the Falkland Islands after Argentina invaded 🇬🇧 Starmer organised 1 ship to sail to Cyprus to protect the island but it won't be ready to sail until next week 🚣🏼‍♂️

Whatever you think of the war in Iran, it has exposed 3 important things. 1. The cowardice of our Prime Minister. 2. The lack of capacity and readiness of our Navy. 3. The twisted morality of the Greens. Let that be a warning to all of us.

Is it time to readdress the lack of inshore diesel 'U' type submarine class for the Royal Navy. Small crew, silent, capable. Leaving the SSNs to be a total pest at sea and project power in far regions, as well as escorting a Task Force? #royalnavy

@TBrit90 Totally agree. This is a navy first aid bandage for the RAFs inability to detect and defend its own runway from a 100mph drone. Which is the RAFs lowest moment since just before 1982. (I can explain that, if needed)

The Royal Navy's availability issues are their own thing, but fleet assets like T45s for the carriers and Wildcats for the escorts shouldn't have been expected to defend Akrotiri and asking them to do so with little notice is a desperate afterthought. That is a sign of deeper failures of the RAF's ability to defend airfields and air defence in general.

Britain’s bases in Cyprus felt like the safest place on earth when I was growing up there. Not any more. Cyprus’s plea for help - answered by France with no UK ships around - is a landmark in British military decline. My column:- times-comment.com/cyp5

@bluenobby @Keir_Starmer @ShabanaMahmood Proud of our South Atlantic veterans. Did the nation proud, fought well and came home in a manner worthy of heroes. September 1982, sunny day, dad came home on HMS Invincible, memory of a lifetime. RIP Dad.

These are the faces of Britain @Keir_Starmer. Not your version or @ShabanaMahmood's. British sailors, me and my oppos, returning from war in the Falklands. Grateful and ready to go again. Even now most of us would do it again. Just not for a parasite like you.

@JohnHealey_MP @RAFAkrotiri You think this is what we want to see?? We want to see our armed forces with kit, tools and ability to defend a bit of runway, without having to 'rush' assets to the theatre. I use the word 'rush' in jest. You had 17 days warning. Resign. Have some dignity. @DrChrisParry

@reportingLibya @StrontiumDog01 @DrChrisParry Woodward demanded the attack as he was wise enough to see the pinchers closing on the Task Force. Belgrano was also close to a underwater shelf which meant HMS Conquerer could not of followed in depth thereafter. A just action, with respect to the AR sailors still on patrol.

@StrontiumDog01 @DrChrisParry I think you don't understand how naval war works. Ships move. The ship might be where it is now, but a week later it will be somewhere else. That is why, in fact, Woodward sent an order to sink the Belgrano. Knowing he had no authority, but to underline this point.

Whilst we're all ranting about the state of our @RoyalNavy, let the Fleet Air Arm be the navys wings, not a mismatch of RAF and FAA. Bring fixed wing back to Heron (closer to Portsmouth) and be a dedicated punch and protect asset, without politics.

@RoyalNavy @smrmoorhouse @HMSDragon And if @smrmoorhouse wanted to give a rousing speech, maybe cross decked later, as did Sir Sandy Woodward. How much time did her ships company have to fanny around cleaning and preparing for your visit, vs getting ready for sea? Poor. Come on Jack, you are better than this.

Fleet Commander, @smrmoorhouse, visited @HMSDragon as the destroyer made her final preparations ahead of her mission to the Eastern Med. VAdm Steve Moorhouse showed admiration in the ship’s company for their commitment and professionalism in readying their warship for action.

@RoyalNavy @smrmoorhouse @HMSDragon I think the nation would appreciate less biscuits and press for prestige, and more 24hr effort and sailing with the ensign high, regardless of chaos below decks. Seeing a nice comfortable chat with the officers whilst your needed to protect the crown, is poor PR.

@DrChrisParry This is all theory, no one has seen modern subs face a modern ASW aircraft or ships. The closest I can think of was an exchange between British frigates and an Argentine submarine in the Falklands. And both sides walked away from it alive.
