Going to have friend(s) over for the grey cup tomorrow, so of course I will be making enough food for 30 people, when in reality, I’ll have 3 people over. And that’s one extra than actually expected.

I’m not a religious man but I am some what spiritual. Darren’s mom is in the hospital and not doing well. Darren’s sister (Heather) picked up Alice’s poppies so they could be in her room. I believe in collective energy of good thoughts. Let’s send Alice some.

I join my fellow Edmontonians in mourning the passing of Dr. Darren Markland. He was a genuinely community-minded individual and an inspiration to everyone who knew him. My heart goes out to his family and his very wide circle of friends.

Deeply saddened by news of the passing of Dr. Darren Markland earlier this week.
Darren was a tireless advocate for patients and health care workers in Edmonton and across Canada. His compassion and dedication made our country stronger. I am keeping his family, and the entire Edmonton community, in my thoughts.

My dad died young. As a child growing up I helped to look after him as he faded. I thought that was normal, and it came with no regrets. Given that it was genetic, he left me with a legacy. “Live every day to the fullest. Suck the marrow from the bone, and bleed for the truth.”
