This report has several problems: the study it cites occurred in Germany, a politically constrained, highly indoctrinated society overly affected by political correctness; its population is too small to include many extremely intelligent subjects (which limits the range of its correlations); the liberal-conservative distinction has been steadily shifted leftward, making it impossible to classify students as one or the other in a meaningful way, and so on. In addition, the narrator absurdly equates conservatism with authoritarianism, mental rigidity, and anal retention. In my experience, extremely intelligent subjects usually tend toward conservatism, but don't want to admit it for several reasons: distaste for political confrontation, the feared loss of bureaucratic or peer approval with undesirable political and professional consequences, fear of being lumped in with the kind of deranged libtard glutting modern social environments, fear of direct physical attack by deranged leftists, and so on. It resembles the old "atheists are smarter than theists" argument, which turned out to work only up to a rather modest IQ level.
