@GooseplanJD @stendhalist They voted 99% for that not to happen. Plus, until they had Argentine citizenship they wouldn't have full rights on their own soil. Also, that kind of arrangement has been tried and usually the annexing government displaces them and settles their own citizens.

@GooseplanJD @stendhalist In 1982 they weren’t British citizens. The British Overseas Territories have their own citizenship. In 1983 people from the Falklands became citizens and 2002 for the rest. The Falklands is essentially an independent country.
