Under SB 174 Senator Gavarone (R) is giving the courts complete control over parenting plans! Even when parents are in AGREEMENT on their parenting plan- the court can OVERRULE it and set their OWN plan. OAMF is OPPOSING SB 174 unless significant changes are made regarding court control over parenting plans AND adding the following provisions: 1.) The wife and husband are the joint natural guardians of their minor children, and they are equally charged with their care, including vaccination choices. 2.) The courts shall not give visitation or custodial preference to a parent or legal custodian based on that parent’s vaccination choices for themselves or their child. 3.) The courts shall not deem a parenting plan is “not in the best interest of a child” because 1 or both parents have chosen to decline or delay vaccination. For the last decade that OAMF has been advocating for Ohio parents, we have had countless parents come to us crying that they lost residential parenting or visitation rights because they did not want the child vaccinated, and the other parent did. Many of these children were force vaccinated against the will of the parent (and the will of the child in many cases). Several of these children were vaccine injured in the process. Judges biased by their personal views on vaccination have been using visitation access or custody of a child to coerce parents into make medical decisions against their will/conscience.
