Today, I was proud to sign the bipartisan bill banning cell phone use during the school day. We’re taking a major step toward ensuring Kansas students are focused in the classroom and addressing the mental health crisis among our young Kansans.

Agriculture keeps our communities strong and drives Kansas’ economy. This National Agriculture Week, we’re recognizing the Kansas farmers, ranchers, and producers who feed our state, our country, and the world.

On Monday, I was honored to receive the Mental Health Hero Award from the Kansas Mental Health Coalition for the work my administration has done to strengthen Kansas’ mental health system. This progress hasn’t happened because of one person or office—it’s been a team effort.

Today, I surveyed the land impacted by the recent wildfires in Ashland and nearby areas. I met with Ashland Mayor Holly Fast, volunteer firefighters, and Kansans who have been impacted by fire at the Henry & Nan Gardiner Marketing Center to discuss wildfire response in Kansas.

Yesterday, I joined Economic Lifelines members, legislators, and @KDOTHQ for Economic Lifelines Transportation Day. The conversations we had will help ensure Kansas continues to have the best transportation infrastructure in the country.

YMCAs serve more than 500,000 Kansans in 25 communities at any given time. Yesterday, we celebrated 175 years of the @ymca, highlighting programs that enhance the quality of life in Kansas and connect Kansans to resources they need to prioritize mental and physical well-being.

Today, I joined the Kansas National Guard and Kansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to proclaim today as ESGR Day. With cooperation among employers, the ESGR, and the National Guard, Kansans’ best interests are put first, and our entire state is better off.

I've proclaimed today as Kansas Task Force 1 Texas Flood Response Day to honor the team's service during severe flooding in Texas last July. They conducted swiftwater search-and-rescue operations and supported life-saving efforts. Our state and country are safer thanks to them.
