The Federal Government has recorded a major breakthrough in its solid minerals sector following the discovery of a world-class polymetallic mineral province in Kaduna State containing platinum group metals, gold, nickel, copper, lithium and rare earth elements. The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, announced this on Wednesday. Alake disclosed the development at the opening ceremony of the African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit 2026 held in Abuja under the theme, ‘One Africa, One Resource Vision’.

There were serious internal divisions within the PDP before the 2015 election probably carefully planned by the APC 2. Several prominent PDP figures defected to the APC before 2015. 3. I can also remember that many Nigerians, including some religious leaders, civil society groups, and public commentators, openly criticized the government and called for change. 4. The opposition mounted a strong campaign and consistently pushed for a credible electoral process. They ran a very aggressive and effective opposition campaign in 2015. The political atmosphere at the time was highly tensed. Some opposition figures expressed concerns about the possibility of electoral irregularities like what’s happening right now with the BVAS malfunctioning and all and made strong public statements about protecting the integrity of the vote. President Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat before the final announcement of all results by saying no political ambition was worth the life of any Nigerian. A move that was widely praised for helping to preserve peace and stability. That was the level of political efforts and public engagement that characterized the 2015 election and ultimately led to a change in leadership. Now the question is: what is the opposition doing today? How much effort has been put into this quest of unseating an incumbent Government!?!?
