Argentina have repeatedly shown us everything football shouldn’t be. Today France and England showed us what it should be. No hate between players, no filthy fouls and trying to actually harm each other, no political statements, no favouritism, no disgusting behaviour from fans just the beautiful game.

Big news!!! I am joining @reformparty_uk . I believe the country needs a Revolution not just tinkering with. I am sorry to leave the Conservatives and retain great friends there; but feel I must assist in this Revolution and ensure @Nigel_Farage becomes that reforming Prime Minister - backed by a top team. More explanation tomorrow but this story today: express.co.uk/news/politics/…

@paulifd Look at the FIFA rankings pre competition. Scotland played two top ten countries in the group stages. England had it easy until they met Argentina who were their only top ten seed in the knockout stages. All that talent and out you went! That’s keeping it real!

Let’s keep this real. The abuse from Irish and Welsh fans is just hilarious, they don’t even qualify. The Scots are very jealous. They qualified, but England finished 3rd. The Scots finished 2nd last, saved by the stinkers of Uruguay. It’s all you need to know 😍 #eng

What a absolute barnstormer in Miami, England and France just served up what might be the greatest World Cup game of all time as the Three Lions ran out 6-4 winners in this mad third-place playoff, Saka bagging a hat-trick like he was on a mission from the football gods while Rice and Konsa stormed out the blocks early to leave Les Bleus shell-shocked at 4-0 down. Mbappé still did his thing with a couple of beauties and the French fought back like the champions they are, pulling it to 5-4 late on, but Bellingham popped up at the death with that trademark swagger to seal it—pure chaos, end-to-end madness that reminded me why I fell in love with this game as a kid, no low blocks or cynical rubbish, just two proud nations going toe-to-toe with skill, heart, and a stack of goals that’ll be talked about for years. England grab third and some proper redemption after the semi heartbreak, France show their class even in defeat, and neutrals everywhere are the real winners. What a night!

@HowlingToad @FTBLsection The draw gave them an easier run ( going by FIFA rankings) up to the Argentina game and if they had played , as well as they can, that would’ve been the case! Had they been on the other 1/2 would they gave gone so far? It’s a great squad of individuals but……

@GrahamRodger56 @FTBLsection A good draw in what sense? If England were in fact inferior to their opponents prior to the semi-final, wouldn't they have lost?

@SteveTa65152757 Utter rubbish my friend . Sturgeon made several poor and even wrong decisions and no Politician is immune from that . Blair in Iraq etc etc . Davis knows Sturgeon has no comeback with statements made under Parliamentary Privilege . Is he then a coward ? Perhaps

Sturgeon calls David Davis a coward. Sturgeon deleted all her Covid WhatsApp messages despite promising not to. Sturgeon said she would release her Branchform statement and now refuses. Sturgeon has run off to London after destroying Scotland. Sturgeon is the coward. #NippyKnew

@ivanchargo @FTBLsection You had a pretty comfortable draw that resulted in you not playing a FIFA top ten ( pre World Cup) team until Argentina. I genuinely think the team didn’t play well and were lucky to get past Norway!

@FTBLsection No there not They just made it to the semi final on the World Cup, not bad if you ask me. Makes them the 3rd/4th best international team in the world. Depending on who wins between France and England 🙏🏼

@FTBLsection Kane didn’t turn up the knockout stages. Bellingham had a good tournament, so did Elliot Anderson. Rest were average. Spence had a good run when he came into team. Gordon is miles off being a Barcelona player. Good achievement getting to Semis.

@ConnollyBi50389 @ScotTories I recall the 60/70 ( I was just as teenager) and many politicians were seen as “working for the people” and respected. Jimmy Reid I always listened too (my dad admired him) but I genuinely don’t rate anyone as highly at the moment! We can but hope! Take good care !

@GrahamRodger56 @ScotTories Aye, politicians have always been an easy target for comedians, haven’t they? There’s never a shortage of material! But behind all the jokes, people just want honesty, accountability, and someone who actually listens. That’s usually what matters most.
