@ScythianB Paid DMing is Satanic. Paid DMing destroys the hobby as hobby, if you can't see this you are an idiot.

@DanielDnDYT Horseshit. They are people who care about the hobby and don't see DMing as performance art which warrants a pay day. I have been DMing since 1981, and can guarantee you, your profile of those who actively oppose it is wrong. My games are typically 8-12 players and always full

So here's a hot take: There are three kinds of players, 1. Those who pay GMs 2. Those who don't pay GMs, and never would, but don't care if you do. 3. Those who hate paid GMs largely because they're entitled twits no one wanted at their table to start with who gamed for years only on the largesse of tables that needed to fill a seat. Now they struggle to find free seats from which to piss off other players. Long and short, there is literally no good argument against the existence of paid GMs.

I think many self-titled conservatives are confused about the differences between conservatism and libertarianism. Of course you can hold to one while leaning toward the other, but these are two distinct political philosophies.

What if I told you if Aaron Rodgers decided not to sign with the #Steelers, that would be the best thing to happen to this franchise in a decade?

Hi, I'm the guy who walks the big white dog past your house 3-4 times a day. We live about a block and a half up the road. I don't know any of you, and we've been in that house since 94. I'd like to be able to tell your kids to get off my lawn by name. I'd like to know if you're quietly aging toward a nursing home in an empty house and the kids don't call anymore. I thought that maybe this summer we could do neighborhood barbeque potlucks, if the people with grills are open, we could "bring your own meat" dealie and (if the guy on the corner plays) we could circle the grills as if they were wagons. Just a thought, Kayfabe's Handler, Grizwald Grim

@Nobleshield @ScythianB Yes, don't see how their post liberal cult aspects are any better than the weird Marxist D&D they hate. Mimesis seems clearly at play here.

@PaulAnleitner We should finally talk. I think right now the meta-modern/metagelical moment seems to be fading in favor of a baptized Nietzcheanism with Christian trappings. Even well meaning people have fallen prey to this mind virus and some corner figures are instrumental in spreading it.

Christopher Nolan’s take on the Joker in “The Dark Knight” was really a philosophy lesson in disguise. Joker= Nietzsche’s critique of Christian morality. The first clue comes from Joker’s reveal. It’s a twist on Nietzsche’s “Whatever doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.”

@Nobleshield @ScythianB Mostly the same. I don't even have much issue with braunstein or competitive play, my issue is with asinine behavior the invalidation of other play styles, and false historical claims.

@grailcountry @ScythianB I pretty much agree with everything except the braunstein. And that they seem to be okay with allowing disruptive behavior at the table if it causes conflict. I definitely agree with more than I disagree with.

@AphraelP Oh boy. I have more familiarity with this problem than it's healthy to have. Most people have no idea how messed up the Forensic Competency restoration system is. It is a hellscape on so many levels.

If the government wants to retain its "monopoly on violence", it needs to show that it is willing to exercise it to maintain rule of law. Otherwise, you get vigilantism / people start paying "unsavory types" for protection.
Kirsche 🥥 🧁@KirscheVerstahl

I don't think he should be "restored to competency" he should be executed if someone is incompetent enough to not understand "killing someone bad" or in this case "killing a woman because of the color of her skin is wrong" they do not belong here

@ScythianB It's a collection of jeffro's blog posts (not sure if it's only that or more after). So nice to have them in a collection. The intro part talking about Bro play wasn't bad other than the typical talking down everything else and claiming this is how gygax wanted the game to be

@GHutchison88 @Steelers_DB This is complete nonsense. Driven by an era that was an outlier in football history, in case you haven't noticed it's reverting to norm. Sam Darnold just won a Superbowl. Washington won with old Doug Williams and Mark Rypien. Building the team is a legitimate approach

My most rational take is that Steelers fans and National Media alike are too hyper-fixated on a declining quarterback to properly appreciate all of the cool ascending pieces that the Steelers have on offense.
