Devon County Council has a standing policy of no cycle lanes on Exeter's arterial roads. So people riding bikes have to wend their way through back streets. It's time that changed.

Common sense would be to send out NIPs to as many op snap submissions of drivers breaking the law by driving through bus gates as possible so the message isn't "you can break the law when you feel like it" which rapidly becomes I'll do 40 in 30 zones, I'll have one more drink etc

Like many other law-breakers, dangerous drivers often begin by committing "low" level infringements, before ignoring even more rules and becoming even more dangerous. Will @DC_Police begin enforcing the AST bus gates in Exeter, @Adrianleisk? They're routinely abused

81mph at #Exeter Airport No2 a record for the site which opened in the early 1990s, and the 3rd strongest at Exeter Airport overall (including the original ob site). Only 83mph on 28/02/1990 and 85mph on 25/01/1990 (Burns Day Storm) were stronger. #StormHenk

I did however find this dinky little shared path from the northeast end of the old bridge, across the Frog Street turnbacks, and up to the Western Way Puffin crossing. I can't think this ever used. Exeter's transport infrastructure is MAD

So the only way to walk from Commercial Road to Bonhay Road is to take massive detours to up Western Way or down and along the Exe, cross New Bridge Street with no crossing or drop kerb, or take the subways and this dodgy path under New Bridge Street
