Today I went to the USM Regents meeting and spoke for @UAM_UMD and in support of @UMD_GLU, who have supermajority support and are seeking voluntary recognition. Our working conditions are learning conditions. The right is coming for us all, management must work with us.

It's a lot of work, that includes things like outreach and contact building or today's adjunct event. We need a lot of people. @Greene_DM @UAM_UMD It’s not enough to sign petitions. It’s time for tt faculty everywhere to speak up for their contingent colleagues at departmental meetings and actually see them as colleagues, not second tier failures. That culture of rankism hurts everyone in the long run.

At Monday’s hearing, UMD Police Chief Mitchell testified that he takes Klan threats seriously, due to their propensity for extreme violence, and it was these racist threats from pro-Israel individuals that led him to recommend the uni bar SJP from holding its vigil on 10/07.

The 8th day of rain couldn't stop the party. Broke bread w union siblings from across UMD and announced that we are now aligned w faculty workers across the state & country as United Academics of Maryland UMD. We're the union for all faculty. We're gonna build a better university

Update: I have received a subjectless email from millionaire UMD donor, and Atlanta Hawks owner, Bruce Levenson, who objects to my description of him as a cranky Facebook uncle just bc he writes angry letters to faculty, with bosses CC'ed, and then fwds them articles for months
