At its meeting today, the Iowa House Ways & Means committee is scheduled to consider H.F. 2308, which would opt the state into the federal education tax credit program. When a state opts in, taxpayers can take a federal income tax credit of up to $1700 annually for contributions to scholarship granting organizations.

Forcing religious schools to violate their faith-based commitments is wrong. The MD House just passed a bill that would do exactly that. HB 649 forbids schools from living out their beliefs about marriage, sexual morality, and the distinction between the sexes.

BREAKING NEWS: The IA legislature just passed HF571, a bill that secures protections for the conscience rights of IA’s healthcare professionals. This important legislation is heading to the Governor’s desk! We’re close to the day when healthcare professionals will be able to freely serve their patients, according to their conscience and expertise...Striving to “do no harm.” Thank you to the bill sponsors (Sen. Taylor & Rep. Gustoff), their colleagues, and House/Senate leadrship. @ADF_Action @ADFLegal

Thirteen states are attempting to violate conscience laws and force pro-life organizations, including churches, to pay for abortions. "To see the Trump administration take this issue seriously, that's a big win for the life movement." —@ADFLegal's Senior Counsel, Matt Sharp

Excellent move by @BlackRock: ending religious discrimination in its employee gift-match program. As @NoahRNash writes in @townhallcom, this didn’t happen by accident—it followed substantive engagement with @ADFLegal and conservative shareholders pushing for common-sense reform. Too many companies have let far-left groups like the SPLC distort charitable giving through third-party administrators like Benevity. BlackRock chose a better path. Every company should follow this example. townhall.com/columnists/noa…

The GA legislature is considering a bill (SB 446) opting the state into the new federal education tax credit program. The original text imposed unnecessary and potentially unconstitutional restrictions on schools. The new version eliminates those problems.

Good news! The Kansas legislature has passed legislation (H.B. 2468) opting the state into the federal education tax credit program. The bill now goes to Gov. Laura Kelly, who is expected to veto it. The legislature has enough votes to override her veto.

Healthcare professionals should not be forced to do procedures they do not support. ADF's Greg Chafuen is in Kentucky, protecting these healthcare professionals as the Senate considers SB72.

VA HB 359, which was a direct assault on private religious schools, is dead for now. The House Appropriations Committee voted to continue the bill to the 2027 session. ADF will remain vigilant. Thanks to everyone who weighed in on the bill!

VIRGINIANS: If you support private schools or educational choice, you need to know about Virginia House Bill 359. This bill is a nightmare for private K-12 schools, particularly religious ones. The most egregious aspect of this bill is that it imposes all sorts of obligations on private schools even if they receive no taxpayer funding. Its requirements are triggered by a school’s receipt of private contributions that enjoy some sort of tax advantage. As the Virginia Family Foundation wrote: “This bill would effectively eliminate meaningful private schooling by forcing any private school that enrolls even one student receiving tuition assistance, whether through a federal scholarship tax credit program, a state tuition assistance program, or any other public subsidy, to comply with the same mandates imposed on public schools.” Mandates like: - government-imposed tuition rates - no freedom to teach or live by Biblical standards on sex & sexuality - boys in girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams - compelled wrong-sex pronouns If HB359 becomes law, Virginia’s private religious schools will face an impossible choice: either give up their distinctive religious character or give up multiple sources of financial support—including from private sources. It will essentially eliminate competition to government schools and deny parents genuine choice. As the mother of a child in a private Christian school in Virginia, this hits home. I urge families to follow the Virginia Family Foundation (@TFFVA) on this issue and speak out now in defense of private education. And be sure that @ADFLegal is actively monitoring this bill. Should it pass, we’re standing ready to take action against it or any other law that interferes with the freedom of religious schools in Virginia.

VA H.B. 359 would force private schools (including religious ones) to give boys access to girls' locker rooms and restrooms. It would destroy girls' sports. It would forbid faith-based codes of conduct.

Extremely dangerous bill moving in the Virginia legislature. H.B. 359 would destroy the religious freedom of faith-based elementary and secondary schools. The state would control admissions, curriculum, and tuition.

By a 53-16-1 vote, the Idaho House passed a bill (H 557) that would preempt local ordinances that go beyond the Idaho Human Rights Act. About a dozen local jurisdictions have enacted ordinances that impose gender ideology on employers, housing providers, & public accommodations.

Last night we capped off a historic day at SCOTUS with a gala to thank our friends & fellow warriors for biological reality. I was especially moved by the moment when we invited courageous female athletes onstage for a standing ovation. Many of them are @ADFLegal clients—including the three we represented yesterday at the Court. There’s no doubt that the tide has turned on women’s sports because young women led the way. As political leaders, institutions, and coaches went along with gender ideology—keeping their opinions quiet and telling young women to do the same—girls had no choice but to stand up for themselves. First it was just a few young women. Then more, and more. They stood up. They spoke out. They refused to go along with a lie. Yesterday’s argument showed us that we still have a long way to go to fully reclaim our sports, our laws, and our language from the grip of gender ideology. But it also showed how far we’ve come. We won’t stop fighting until reality wins. And it will win.
