“Give me 6 hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first 4 sharpening the axe.” This George Washington quote is particularly relevant in the age of AI. Investing time in tools that will yield better results seems counterproductive, but is a great investment of your time.

One downside of remote work is it’s hard to build relationships with people not on my immediate team. At @tryramp, we use a tool to auto suggest and schedule 15 min meetings with new a colleague every 2 weeks. It’s like engineered spontaneity without a physical presence needed.

A dollar saved is a dollar earned, right? Wrong. If you have a 25% margin business, you need to earn $4 in order to save $1. If it’s a 10% margin business, you need to earn $10. 1% margin business…need to earn $100. Saving money is often undervalued. @tryramp

I’m working a deal with a large non-profit. I used Claude to do deep research and find overlap between the non-profit donors and current customers. This took minutes instead of hours had I done it manually. #AI #claude

@Meta is safe because its moat is its network. I can replicate the Facebook app, but I can’t bring all of the users with me. Platforms that are databases or applications alone are at high risk. Think @asana @ServiceNow @HubSpot @intercom @SurveyMonkey

It’s becoming clear that it’s not white collar jobs that are at risk with AI… it’s entire billion dollar companies. Why would I pay @salesforce thousands of dollars a month if I can just build my own CRM in a matter of a few minutes? #ai #claud

Right now, the only differentiator is I can stream from anywhere on planet Earth without 4G/WiFi. That differentiator will soon be eliminated with @Starlink. Then what? You are destined to become @blockbuster if you don’t innovate.

@SIRIUSXM - idea. You need to become the undisputed live DJ champion. Give me song discovery and connection to a live audience. Right now you just recycle the same 25 songs over and over and I’m having a tough time justifying the cost compared to the other apps (@Spotify etc).

Why do you even exist today? What is your specific differentiator? Why are you relevant? These questions that need to be examined and answered otherwise you won’t have a business in < 5 years.

I’ve interviewed hundreds of candidates for sales roles in my career. The single most harmful thing I see in an interview is when candidates think it’s a safe space to share anything negative on their former employers. Refrain. The interview is not the time and place for this.

There are two profiles of companies 1) Those using AI internally as an add-on here & there. 10% productivity improvement. Bite size chunks. 2) Those using AI everywhere. Every system. Every process. 100% productivity improvement. Wholesale adoption. The former is dead in < 5 yrs

A disagreement only happens because there are two valid viewpoints on either side. If one side of the argument has no valid point, it doesn’t exist in the first place. Understand that your opponent’s conviction about their counter perspective is as valid as your own.
