$QUCY will be my Quantum focus for the entire day. Why? - Hot headline of the day (theme): Quantum computing is the latest U.S. government equity bet - QUCY has now been setting up for multiple days, posting PRs and collecting shorts - 37% short interest - News yesterday: Quantum Cyber Files Provisional Patent for Quantum-Navigated Amphibious Autonomous Ground Vehicle Platform - Volume is consistently high $INFQ $IONQ $RGTI $QBTS

@TaylorRMarshall Or if the SSPX tells that you are allowed to setup a parallel church totally outside the structure, authority and disciple of the Catholic Church, as long as there is a crisis, oh and as long as you say ''Its not a parallel church'' even if it fits the exact definition.

If a sedevacantist tells you that every diocese on earth is vacant, that person has lost the Catholic faith: If anyone saith that, in the Catholic Church, there is not a hierarchy by divine ordination instituted, consisting of bishops, priests, and ministers; let him be anathema. (The Council of Trent, On the Sacrament of Order, Canon VI.)

@athanasiusurban I care. Honestly, I was SSPX for 25 years. Im sure you & I live a very similar life & are trying hard to be a good Catholic. When I left the SSPX bubble I saw the Church &the SSPX way more clearly. I read previous saints & Church history, the SSPX is making up their own path.

@LJacas81461 Why do you care if someone already excommunicated is double excommunicated?

Can. 1324 — §1. 8° and §2 clearly state that even if Abp. Lefebvre was culpable in his supposed error, the latae sententiae excommunication does not apply.

@athanasiusurban ''The Church supplied it'' which Church exactly? ''What you bind on earth is bound in heaven'' The law the Pope officially promulgated will be bound in heaven. A papal mandate is required, even more so when the pope specifically says you cannot consecrate buishops.

@LJacas81461 Apostolic mandate doesn't necessarily mean the Pope issued it personally, but the Church supplied it by reason of necessity.

@athanasiusurban You realize this was claimed already, that canon was quoted but Pope John Paul II and the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts strictly rejected Lefebvre’s defense They declared it a valid & official excommunication. If you are a sede I get it, but if not, no way around that!

@LJacas81461 Even if he didn't fall under 1323-4, he would still fall under 1324-5 or 8. There's no going around it. You quoted a priest who claimed he didn't fall under 1323-4, because the act was intrinsically evil, so 1324-5 applies, hence no excommunication either.

@TaylorRMarshall Look at Pius X when he changed the breviary, cut back about 30 minutes worth, after it had been used for over 300 years. For unity sake he banned the old breviary and made the new breviary mandatory.

@athanasiusurban The Pope declared he didnt fall under 1323-4. Canon law is interpreted and applied by the Pope, diocesan bishops, and ecclesiastical tribunals (church courts). The highest authority for interpretation is the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts in Rome

@LJacas81461 I'm not talking about Can. 1323, but 1324. Even if you argue it's intrinsically evil and harmful to the souls (it's not), Lefebvre still wouldn't be excommunicated. Can. 1324— § 1. 5°

@TonyProFineArt @SSPXEN Find a decent local Novus ordo mass. There is a crisis, no doubt, but not in every parish. Our local Novus ordo is said according to the original v2 text, ad orientem, very reverently by Fr Ahn. I attend FSSP for the like minded community, more kids for my kids to play with, etc.

@LJacas81461 @SSPXEN What are the options for people who attend the SSPX but don’t have the luxury of living near an FSSP or another licit TLM? And why would you attend the FSSP if you don’t believe there’s a crisis in the Church at your local Novus Ordo?

@BenedictSwiss @SSPXEN Liturgy, the mass, chant, Divine office etc has changed. Many said the same thing when pope Pius X changed/shortened roman breviary in 1911, after over 300+ years. He actually had to ban the old breviary from being said, the old version would not fulfill your breviary obligation.

@BenedictSwiss @SSPXEN 1 /2). ''However, it responds appropriately by solving extraordinary problems with extraordinary means.'' Who decides that? Your entire response is subjective & personal opinion. Because the SSPX determined its a crisis, they get to determine the remedy? Who says they are right

@CatholicSmark This is a great point, their actions, unlike the saints of old, show that authority doesnt matter in a time of crisis, people can do what they see fit. It destroys the structure of the Church and lengthens the recovery that God will bring about.

I think this is wrong, as an independent line of bishops working together in an era where Church authority is really weak is a pontentially big issue. The SSPX is also a proxy discussion for a Church that cannot come to consensus on who she has been, so cannot say who she is
