@Graham_Couch In fairness, I think this level of change should be applicable to athletes who are Freshmen this fall(clock starts then) and anyone coming into College after that.

This could happen quickly. It’s also something that should have been decided outside of portal season. Would impact a lot of athletes across the board - including MSU basketball players - if it includes this past season’s four-year seniors.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

The NCAA is exploring a significant change to its eligibility rule, sources tell @YahooSports. The proposal creates an age-based standard: Athletes would have 5 years of eligibility from their 19th birthday or HS graduation. No redshirts or waivers. bit.ly/3POqo2D

@TomHoefling You must not reside in Europe. The only thing keeping Europe out of the crosshairs is that Ukraine is not in NATO. This might be the dumbest post I’ve seen in a while.

If Trump (illegally) takes the U.S. out of NATO, NATO should offer full membership to Ukraine five minutes later. I mean, Ukraine is, in every practical sense, the bulwark of Europe against the war criminals and barbarians in the Kremlin.

@RasmusJarlov You’re being disingenuous. NATO countries were initially asked to allow use of airspace, staging sites & refueling and some countries refused. When you say, they were asked to join, that came later with defense of the Strait to enable shipping to continue uninterrupted.

If the USA does not intend to honour the obligation to defend NATO because European countries dont join an offensive war of choice against Iran that we have absolutely no obligation to join, the USA membership of NATO is already worthless. The NATO oath to defend each other is unconditional. If you dont intend to honour it because you are offended about disagreements that have nothing to do with the treaty obligation that you have sworn to uphold, your are not a realiable ally. Tresties with you are worthless and your word means nothing. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case for the USA.

@SpartanDawgPC People can and should question and they might know something about basketball. But 99% of people who do so do not know more about basketball than Tom Izzo.

@ianrich15813274 When your Country is in mourning over the tragic loss of life, if you “find yourself” comparing speeches of heads of State and not thinking of those families then you should do some some soul searching. 8 people dead, 25 injured & you’re thinking of Trump vs Carney!? Good Lord.

Listening to Mark Carney's moving speech at the devastated community of Tumbler Ridge, I find myself comparing the Canadian & American leaders. Carney has vast amounts of 3 things that Trump has absolutely none of - compassion, wisdom & most of all, class.

@Microinteracti1 I tend to agree with you. I believe the US should drastically reduce; spending in other countries, spending on foreign aid, defense spending. Withdrawal troops from Europe, stop being the World’s police & focus those resources on its own people’s needs.

MAGA USA does not get to lecture the rest of us on how to live. If you live in Europe, Canada, Australia, or across much of Asia, you already know what a functioning society looks like. You measure success by whether people live longer, whether babies survive, whether it is safe to walk home, whether education bankrupts families, and whether a normal job actually supports a normal life. On those basics, the United States is not a model. It is an outlier. Look at the pattern. Lower life expectancy. Higher infant mortality. Higher poverty. A far larger share of wealth concentrated at the top. Massive average student debt. Higher homicide rates. An enormous prison population. More workplace deaths. These are not minor quirks. They are signals of a system that is misfiring in all the places modern societies care about most. And that is exactly why the cultural export is so dangerous. The US is brilliant at branding. It sells a story of freedom, and meritocracy. But when you compare outcomes, you see the bill. The story is expensive, and ordinary people pay it in health, safety, and stability. So no, we should not import their healthcare model, their education financing, their approach to punishment, or their tolerance for inequality, because we like our own lives. We like public goods that work. We like not being afraid of bankruptcy when we get sick. We like not treating debt as a rite of passage. We like societies where success does not require everyone else to lose. If anything, the lesson from the US is the opposite of imitation. It is a warning label. For the 5,000 people who’ve responded here, many of you insulting me, you’re aiming at the wrong person. I ask uncomfortable but necessary questions, knowing there are smarter voices online than on TV where they perform for ratings. I’m just the middleman! x.com/simonateba/sta…

Be brutally honest: Now that Don Lemon is on video clearly identifying himself outside the church as a journalist and distancing himself from the activists, are you still convinced he broke the law or does the evidence finally speak for itself? Yes or no? WATCH.

@tomselliott Being a douche bag is not a crime. Storming a church in the middle of a service not leaving when being asked to leave is a federal crime. Having a microphone and asking some questions does not make you immune from that.

Not a Don Lemon fan, but ... not sure how being a douchebag is a federal crime? Worse, Lemon becomes a hero among the crazies, just like Kimmel. And it makes Trump look as power-mad as the left portrays him. Unfortunately it's easier to arrest activists than it is cut govt spending & make life more affordable for Americans.

@nosoupforgeorge I agree with you. If Sean Hannity accompanied protesters who are uninvited forcing their way into a mosque and wouldn’t leave after being asked to do so, then yes, he should be arrested.

@raghu_venugopal Sir, he is not the PM of Canada. There is nothing you can do to “oppose him at every turn”. You can neither vote for, or against, his policies in any way. Thank you.

@SpartanRyan I’m not trying to have anything both ways. You can’t fuckin wrestle with cops & expect shit not to go wrong. Do Not confront police when armed. Do Not wrestle with police & reach for your gun. If unarmed, Do Not continue to fight police. You’re unnecessarily risking your life.

@SpartanRyan 1) What happened was tragic & shouldn’t have happened. 2) I have a right to open carry, to do so in certain areas or situations puts me at high risk. Instead of putting his hands up, this person wrestled/resisted while armed. Please don’t do this when you have a gun on yourself

Since when is shooting a guy who was disarmed and legally carrying “doing the job they swore an oath to” Does the oath say unlawfully murdering people is fine? These people are fucking ghouls who deserve to be shamed. Sorry if I don’t have any empathy for you when you’re cheering on this sickening bullshit.

@honjamesmoore Are you stupid enough to think his statement was an endorsement of doing a deal with China?? It was more in the flavor of go ahead, do a deal with China and see how that works out for you. The PM knew what would happen. Everything is a posture of negotiation.

“If he can get a trade deal with China he should do that.” So we do that and there’s a 100% tariff threat. Don’t ever back down to a bully who is an incoherent and dishonest “partner” who changes his demands from hour to hour. Keep moving forward. Canada first. Canada always.

@Sheehan_Sports I kept hearing that a portion of the $401m donation would be used for NIL. I’m actually hearing the opposite, they’re offering/spending less on players than previous staffs. We’re the 2000’s Oakland A’s of spending now. This will be at least a 3 yr rebuild.

@RustyMansell_ As long as you can apply the same level of control with coaches & assistant coaches. One job change allowed every 5yrs & salaries are capped. This of course is ridiculous and no coach would ever agree to these limitations. Why should the players.
