I've dated a narcissist who was very charismatic, very beautiful, but also very draining and very confusing. I dare say if you have the chance to date one, you will never dare to do it again. Their world is chaos, their mind is very confused, and they will spread it to you. Their mindset was ruined by traumas, their emotions nearly completely empty, and they live in survival mode all the time, with no sense of safety and no peace at all. Never try to be with them. Never.

Unpopular opinion: No one is labeled as mentally unstable more than the one who sees through the nonsense. No one is gossiped about more than the one who is truly authentic. No one is dismissed or called “crazy” more than the truth-teller. Because no one is more feared than the one who speaks things as they are.

Not only do they manipulate the victim's self-perception, convincing them that they are “less than” or unworthy of basic human rights, but they manipulate how others see their victims, portraying them as undesirable or problematic individuals. This tactic isolates the victim, making it harder for others to recognize the abuse or feel sympathy, thereby allowing the narcissist to maintain control and continue their abusive behavior unquestioned.

WHY SOME PEOPLE NEVER GET PLAYED: 1. They share selectively. Not because they're secretive,because they understand that oversharing with the wrong person is just handing someone a manual on how to use you. 2. They trust behavior over words,always. Anyone can speak loyalty. Far fewer can sustain it across time, inconvenience, and temptation. 3. When someone shows them who they are early, they believe it. No second-guessing, no explaining it away. The first glimpse is often the most honest one. 4. They have no fear of being alone. And because of that, they can't be pressured into tolerating bad treatment to avoid loneliness. That one quality eliminates an entire category of manipulation. 5. They never negotiate their core values. Flexible on preferences, rigid on principles. That boundary is invisible to most,but manipulators feel it immediately and move on. 6. They ask better questions. Not "do they like me?" but "do I actually like who I am around them?" That shift in perspective changes everything about who makes the cut. 7. They move in silence. Not out of secrecy,but because they know that loud ambitions attract both supporters and saboteurs, and it's hard to tell them apart early on. 8. When they feel something is off, they don't talk themselves out of it. Intuition is just pattern recognition your brain completed before your conscious mind caught up. They respect that process. 9. They recover fast,but they never forget. Forgiveness is for their own peace. Remembering is for their own protection. Both can exist at once. 10. They're genuinely hard to impress. Not arrogant,just self-sufficient. And a person who isn't desperately seeking approval is nearly impossible to manipulate through flattery or status.

My awful ex GF did this - emotional abuse if you say "no" or disagree: "They’ve conditioned their men not to disobey in fear of extremely volatile reactions that involve shaming and humiliation when a loss of control is so much as felt." Or just abuse if she felt like it.

THIS IS GOING TO OFFEND A LOT OF NARCISSISTIC PEOPLE: It’s time you start admitting that you mistreated people and acted out of line, instead of being delusional and constantly acting like you were the victim. This was hard for me, I had to do this myself. The truth is, your own actions put you in the position where you lost people who genuinely cared for you. You pushed away the ones who loved you, disrespected the ones who tried to help you, and then blamed everyone else when the consequences of your behavior caught up with you.
