To our knowledge, this is one of the first publication that describe a role for a Rap2 ortholog in vivo. Great work by Gabriela (who just defended her PhD, summa cum laude) and other people from our group, with the help of the labs of Marc Therrien and Tom Moss. (3/3)

We identified that the kinase Misshapen, which is central to the coordination of border cells migration in the Drosophila egg chamber, is regulated by the kinase Tao and the small GTPase Rap2 (Rap2l). They control the activation and the levels of Misshapen, respectively. (2/3)

Happy to share that I’ve been awarded an #ERCStG to study how the coexistence of diverse cancer cell clones drives tumor development. Huge thanks to my mentors and all the colleagues who helped along the way, and the @ERC_Research for this fantastic opportunity!

This great work by Alison adds to our understanding of the regulation of guidance receptors during collective migration by involving ArfGAP1, Lrrk and Hrs. It also increases our understading of the role of the GTPase and kinase Lrrk.

Lrrk is a GTPase and a kinase that regulates vesicular trafficking by acting on several Rab GTPase. In particular, Lrrk acts with Hrs to participate in the sorting in early endosomes. Genetic interactions indicate that ArfGAP1 regulates Lrrk and Hrs to block RTK degradation.

Hi everyone, our latest paper is now out in iScience. In previous work, we performed a screen to identify regulator of vesicular trafficking involved in the collective migration of border cells. Alison Boutet decided to focus on ArfGAP1. cell.com/iscience/fullt…
