The flying of the Russian flag has now spread to Kaduna. Youths are destroying infrastructure and waving the flag. Peter Obi and Omoyele Sowore need to be very careful. They are playing into the hands of forces they do not understand. Global powers may be using them, directly or indirectly, and deceiving them into thinking they are helping them. This is how it started in Niger Republic, Mali and Burkina Faso. People waving Russian flags in protest. Nigeria is a democracy, and we will resist any attempt to use disgruntled politicians to truncate our democracy Niger and Mali style. And if Peter Obi and Sowore can think deeply, they may see that this is becoming something else! #TableShaker

What is happening in Kano and Kaduna could have been avoided if the promoters of the protest had toned down their rhetoric. That is why it was so unfortunate that Peter Obi chose to use the word 'war' in his speech, which has obviously inflamed protesters. This is what I have been preaching against for days now. Protest if you must. But why destroy the very public infrastructure and utilities that serve you? Looting businesses of people who are experiencing the same conditions as you, yet are providing service and employing the few people they can? The promoters of these protests must do everything in their power, including curtailing their rhetoric, to ensure that these acts are isolated to Kano and do not spread. #TableShaker
