@Bbmorg And the reason for them not being branded as Easter Eggs back in the 60s & 70s? The Church of England and the Catholic Church objected to Easter being exploited to sell confectionery.

Don’t let the lying racists make you believe the word Easter has only recently been taken off Easter Eggs. Spot the one reference Easter eggs from 1960s and 70s.

This comes up every Easter. The reason Cadbury's and other companies don't call them Easter Eggs is because both the Catholic Church and Church of England objected to the use of the word "Easter" to promote confectionery. They haven't been branded as Easter Eggs for decades.

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

So Farage - ran UKIP and it imploded - was the second worst attending MEP - Led a Party where some were in receipt of Russian bribes - sold you Brexit - said Brexit would solve migration as black and brown people would come instead of Europeans - backed Trump - sold out to Johnson - backed Trump again - is collecting old Tories like used postage stamps And you seriously think he is the answer to anything 🤣

@Tazerface16 Yes. I was a projectionist back in the 90s, and you had to still screen the movie in case people showed up late. Having to start it later would disrupt the subsequent screenings in the same theatre.

Question for movie people: If nobody buys a ticket for a screening, do they still play the movie? 🤔

@JimBenda @bendreyfuss Death in Paradise involves spending months in the Caribbean. It sounds idyllic but the cast members have spoken of missing family & friends while they're away.

@bendreyfuss Also, why do the lead actors of British series turn over so often? (Grantchester, Death in Paradise, Call the Midwife etc) Seems like it would be a good gig. The U.S. series might have the same sleuth for 20 years (hello, Mariska Hargitay), but not many of the British shows.

One of my favorite things about British cops shows is that they all have the exact casts but in different roles. There are apparently only 20 actors in the entire country and they’re like “today I’m playing the vicar!”

@jbeggs252 @anders_aslund @nandon2425 While I do agree with this, it's probably exactly what Putin wants, a weakened NATO, and he's probably pulling the strings (much as he did with Brexit, to make the EU weaker).

Why does Trump want to seize Greenland? Since the US has full access to Greenland according to its treaty with Denmark from 1951 there is no national security argument, nor mineral rights issue. I see 4 possible Trump reasons: 1. Hide the Epstein files (works well). /1

@JoshButler Every puff piece about Sussan mentions that she is/was a punk. Has she ever backed this up, like voiced an opinion on the recent Pistols' tour without Lydon, or shown off her collection of Clash LPs & Ramones t-shirts, or demonstrated any knowledge of The Damned's discography?

Sussan Ley has given a speech to parliament (and then issued a transcript, in case you missed it) criticising Anthony Albanese for wearing a t-shirt of post-punk band Joy Division Ley has often talked about "punk phase" which led to her adding the extra 'S' to her name
