Sahin clearly knows possession and attacking football. This is a PSG level attacking sequence. The problems he had with us were: 1) Inexperience at our level. He just wasn‘t equipped at this time to deal with the various shit that confronted him in our club. 2) The squad was nowhere near a fit for what he wanted to do. The technical floor was simply far too low. Kobel is never playing a ball like the one that the keeper here played to open up the press, none of our midfielders last year aside from Nmecha can execute the sequences in passes 17-18, and no one who got regular minutes would execute the final ball. It was the wrong time for Sahin with us. But if anything, the lesson we should have learned from his time with us is that the squad just simply isn‘t good enough to play the kind of football we need to play to challenge Europe‘s elite.
