Spring is in the air, season of renewal and hope, so why not wallow in the dungeons and shooting galleries of depravity as summoned by Lou Reed & The Velvet Underground? This @MOJOmagazine is still in the shops, still great, and I'm still really proud of the CD that comes with it

Sajid Javid has called for patients to pay for GP and A&E visits. This is what the Conservatives have in store for us all. We strongly oppose anything that might prevent or dissuade someone from seeking the care they need. Please RT if you do too. theguardian.com/politics/2023/…

Welcome to Joel's Vinyl Adoption Agency 🐶🐱 Is it rare? No. Is it worth a lot of money? God no. Is it crammed full of the most audacious, pompous and outrageous rock songs ever? Ooooh yes. A few marks here and there. But wonderful. To adopt comment, "can i call you Meat?".

This just gets worse. The gowns were not packaged in a way that would keep them sterile so were useless. Mone's family made £70M from these deals. Whole idea of a VIP lane for friends of government to get contracts is corrupt. Where are the police? theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/j…

Pls don’t let the govt gaslight you into thinking it’s ‘normal’ for patients to be dying in their droves at home, in ambulances, in corridors, in cupboards. Excess deaths are 26% higher than usual. This isn’t normal, it’s grotesque. A humanitarian crisis, yet Sunak does nothing.

I still can’t quite believe that as we hit 2,500 EXTRA deaths per week - due mainly to insufficient access to basic medical care - that Sunak and his govt have decided to do absolutely NOTHING.

I can’t help feeling that the Conservative Party has no interest in governing the UK, they are AWOL while the country’s infrastructure grumbles after a decade of austerity.

@KateFox41 It’s like the late 90s over again, a decade or Tory misrule, sleaze and corruption (but far, far worse) with the hope of renewal under Labour. I fear not until 2024.

My natural optimism hopes that 2023 will be better than 2022, but my realism suggests that with the Tory non-Government at the helm, everything will continue to deteriorate apace.

Twelve years of Tory austerity and 'managed decline' of the service. Plus a mismanaged pandemic. And here we are. 'The world's fifth richest country'. Patients untreated. Nurses cracking up or leaving in droves. Doctors suicidal. Does the govt have... a plan? *Any* plan?

Well it's all broken. There's nowhere to go. Hospitals at capacity, Primary Care (GP) at capacity, NHS 111 at capacity. Where are our leaders? Where is the communication to the public about what they can expect? Where are the mitigations? Nowhere. They're leaving us to die.
