@lawrenson_40883 @Choyaa13 Because it wasn't made up by me... “When I speak of 'our people' I speak of those who share my unionist philosophy and those who do not – I speak of both the Planter and the Gael," Peter Robinson 2004

@garymcdonald_mc And a generation of paying up to 20bn a year before that happens. Even ROI won’t vote for that. It’s over. Deal with it.

Spoke to express huge disappointment that SF has called in the decision to allow the BBC to be a key user at the Belfast Stories project. Further delay for enhanced studio space for the city, which arts & screen sector need Seems SF oppose the BBC as they dont like 1st 'B'.
Mark Simpson@BBCMarkSimpson

The on-off-on deal between BBC NI and Belfast City Council over a new studio is now on hold - after a Sinn Féin challenge. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@alertacosmica @SkippyRizzzo @daviemph21 @emilyhewertson It’s got nothing to do with that. Argentina asserts that it gained control over the falklands following the wars to kick the Spanish out. The falklands have been British since 1765 but we did leave for a while, always asserting ownership and leaving a plaque to that effect.

Can someone explain Argentina’s claim to the Falklands? They’ve never been Argentinian. We won the Falklands war. In a referendum, only 3 person voted to revoke British sovereignty. Just comes down to ego, I guess.

@BaronoftheMaine @sinnfeinireland What a fucking idiotic statement... Sinn Féin didn’t politicise the Irish languag. unionism did. Stormont treated Irish as disloyal, removed support for it in education, excluded it from public life ...enacted English only street signs in 1949.. they were dual before that..

@weepee11 I think someone who routinely refers to Protestants as foreign Planters can spare us the faux outrage regarding sectarianism, racism and bitterness.

The Twelfth remains remarkably resilient despite heavy criticism. In Fermanagh, crowds were large, and parading numbers increased for the first time in years, underpinned by a rise in junior & women’s lodges (replicated across NI). Challenges remain, but the obituary is on hold.

The sight i enjoyed most about yesterday was the amount of foreign nationals loving the parades and enjoying the great atmosphere 👌

The Irish Sea border should disgrace every democrat and Unionist. It breaches the Act of Union and undermines the principle at the heart of the Belfast Agreement: that Northern Ireland's constitutional status can only change with the consent of a majority. We should also be clear-eyed about its strategic purpose. The Irish Sea border is an open constitutional wound, intended to normalise rule-taking without democratic consent - precisely the model now being extended to Great Britain through Labour's EU "reset". I was glad my party joined the DUP, UUP, TUV and Reform in the lobbies this week to vote against this continuing injustice.
Jim Allister@JimAllister

Lessons on Being a Rule-Taker. This is what you get with dynamic alignment. GB should learn from NI and say 'no' to the reset. Until the UK believes in itself once again the world will take us for fools. bit.ly/4vq8vGj

How come the nationalists of places such as Newtownhamilton and Keady can tolerate the Twelfth in these areas but the nationalists of Garvaghy Road can't tolerate a Sunday parade which takes less than 30 minutes?
