In the Quran after the sacrifice, as his reward, Abraham got the news from angels that his wife Sarah was pregnant with Isaac.

No Arab sources pre-Muhammad claim Ishmael descent. It’s a later fabrication Arabs incorporated from Islam after introduction by Muhammad.

If the Quran was copying, where did that detail come from? Copying doesn’t create new information.
