This morning’s little outing from Plymouth taking in Dartmouth up towards Totnes. Then Brixham & Torquay. Beautiful morning for it. 😎

In UK Naval Bases sailors get to ships at sea via a PAS Boat. Named after the Port Auxiliary Service which ran the service until 50 yrs ago in 1976. The service is now provided by @SercoGroup Sailors still call them PAS boats and in @HMNBDevonport they usually bear @FOST Staff.

@MortenKathy @jfwduffield Sure it’s not contrary to AP1358? Seems to indicate he should be in No. 2 SD. Maybe it doesn’t apply to him? Your loyalty is commendable but I think even you realise it’s not a great look for the Head of our Armed Forces when engaging with media.

@jfwduffield The green PCS or RAF No3 dress is normal for day to day wear for the majority of the UK Armed Forces, of which he is the head. It’s also service neutral, rather than bespoke to any of the RN, Army or RAF.

The first Chief of the Defence Staff not to serve in a combat role. It is pretty obvious. He also looks ridiculous wearing camouflage in a Whitehall desk job. Where is proper uniform? He isn't going to be bayonetting anyone soon.

Glad to see the back of February and the beginning of Spring with its promise of fairer weather. Despite the weather we managed to get things done.

@NavyLookout @LukePollard Dread to think what the tow to and fees at Falmouth that will accrue will cost now on top of that?

Ex-RFA Argus arrives in Falmouth under tow this morning to be prepared for disposal. @LukePollard says the MoD spent £6.579 million on the refurbishment of Argus in 2025. RFA Mounts Bay beyond - awaiting entry into dry dock for a brief hull inspection.

@LouisMeur Bon Voyage. Great to catch up the other day.

Managed to get a few tasks completed in January. Remaining flexible throughout the month was key to dodging the weather and a number of other obstacles to get the jobs done at various locations throughout Devon & Cornwall.
