@interesting_aIl This could very well be the work of a Homeowner's Association (HOA). A detailed 2023 investigation by The Intercept found that more than 200 HOAs across the U.S. had purchased and installed Flock license plate readers. I'm sure it's much more now.

For context, DJI (the largest and most used drone manufacturer in the US, if not the world) cannot sell new drone models in the US because the company (along with other foreign drone makers, especially Chinese ones like Autel) was added to the FCC’s national security “Covered List” effective December 22/23, 2025. This blocks new FCC equipment authorizations required for legal import, marketing, and sale. The trigger came from the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Section 1709. It required a formal security review/audit of DJI and similar companies by a US national security agency by a late-December 2025 deadline. No agency completed the audit in time, so the companies were automatically placed on the Covered List. The stated risks include: ᯓ★ Potential for persistent surveillance and data exfiltration (video footage, flight logs, location data) that could be accessed by the Chinese government under PRC national intelligence laws. ᯓ★ Theoretical risks of manipulation or use in disruptive/destructive operations, especially over critical events or infrastructure (e.g., mass gatherings like the World Cup or Olympics). ᯓ★ Heavy US reliance on Chinese manufacturing/supply chains for drones and components, which could create vulnerabilities. Broader geopolitical concerns about dependence on adversarial foreign technology in the drone ecosystem. How rich is that? Skydio is the leading U.S.-based beneficiary and strategic counterpart to the DJI restrictions. While the FCC’s Covered List action (and the underlying NDAA provisions) primarily restricts foreign-made drones like DJI’s new models, it simultaneously creates a protected or preferred lane for compliant American manufacturers. Skydio is the clearest and most prominent example of a company positioned to fill that lane.

Ever wonder what would happen if Flock cameras grew wings? Meet Skydio. Skydio is a California company hiding under the cloak of “bringing manufacturing back to America” by producing drones that we used to buy from China, and then selling those drones to police departments so they can spy on you just like the Chinese. In a recent case they accidentally livestreamed their 'secure' drone footage directly to a public facing website for anyone to see. They weren't hacked by some enterprising citizen, they did it of their own volition (stupidity). Flock is not the only enemy, and we are going to need more than a bandsaw to deal with this emerging, layered threat.

DON'T FORGET THIS FT. WORTH POLICE INCIDENT! While we're on the issue of the Constitutional indiscretions of the @fortworthpd, as I am sure many of you have seen on X, let us not forget June 23, 2024, when officer Matthew Krueger body-slammed 60-year-old Carolyn Rodriguez for filming a hit-and-run scene, nearly killing her. For her troubles, she got a fractured eye socket, dislocated elbow, and concussion. On December 18, 2024, he was terminated by then-Chief Neil Noakes after an Internal Affairs investigation concluded the force used was “unjustified” and violated departmental policy. He had been reassigned to a non-public-facing role pending the investigation. Why did it take six months? In September 2025, an independent hearing examiner fully overturned the termination, ruling that “cause did not exist to support any form of disciplinary action.” The Fort Worth Police Officers’ Association (union) celebrated the decision as aligning with the Tarrant County DA’s Office and the department’s Use of Force Committee (both of which found no policy or legal violations). Krueger was reinstated and reported back to the department. In 2012–2013, Krueger faced two internal investigations for unnecessary/excessive use of force with the Irving PD. In a December 2012 incident, he was allegedly accused of forcefully removing a woman from a vehicle, taking her to the ground within ~22 seconds of arrival, and arresting her for resisting arrest (despite her not being combative). An arbitration document noted a comment to another officer and found violations of use-of-force policy, wrongful arrest, improper detention, and failure to follow charge-dropping procedures. In a January 2013 incident, during an encounter with an intoxicated but verbally abrasive woman who was walking home and under control, he allegedly grabbed her near the neck/chest area, tripped her to the ground “in an abrupt and dangerous manner,” causing injury. The investigation cited excessive force, antagonism, and poor decision-making. The 2024 video is still out there. This is what police accountability looks like in Fort Worth. Get these monsters off the street. Links/sources in the comments ⬇️

The law is coming, and I hope no stones are left unturned. People's heads need to spin, and some should consider a different profession. As @amuse opined recently, there is an entire generation of police officers trained under the rubric of diversity, equity, and inclusion who don't understand basic civil rights. @fortworthpd called attention to themselves. x.com/gatewaypundit/…
Guerrilla Brain@GuerrillaBrain

Dear @fortworthpd, I am writing to ask why the officer involved in this incident remains employed by your agency. Her conduct constitutes a clear violation of her oath of office and demonstrates a level of incompetence incompatible with the responsibilities of law enforcement. The fact that she is still employed suggests your agency’s well-established pattern of investigating allegations against its own officers and predictably finding no wrongdoing. That pattern is no longer credible. I respect competent, professional law enforcement. This is not it. The officer should be terminated and her TCOLE license revoked. Given your agency’s track record, however, I expect she will instead be promoted to Lieutenant by the end of summer. Raise your standards! Anyone who doesn't meet them needs to be working somewhere else. Your agency is a master at building a trust deficit with the public it swore to serve.

Does Flock Threaten the Second Amendment Community? Here's How it Can Happen! #Flock Safety’s technology (primarily ALPR cameras with “vehicle fingerprinting,” integrated video, etc.) is a powerful, networked surveillance tool focused on vehicles and locations. It excels at tracing movements across jurisdictions via license plates plus make/model/color/unique features (bumper stickers, damage, racks). It has some documented success in solving crimes, but also faces credible criticism for enabling mass data collection, mission creep, and documented abuses. The technology’s capabilities create plausible vectors for selective or abusive application, especially if combined with other data sources, policy shifts, or institutional bias. Plausible Vectors for Use “Against” 2A Supporters Here are conceptual possibilities based on the tech’s design (persistent location tracking + national network effects + AI vehicle matching). These range from indirect/chilling effects to more direct targeting. ╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Pattern-of-Life Profiling via Vehicle Tracking Repeated reads near gun stores, shooting ranges, gun shows, or pro-2A events/rallies could build movement histories. Combined with other data (if subpoenaed or shared), this could flag individuals as “frequent gun enthusiasts.” In jurisdictions expanding red-flag/ERPO laws, extreme risk protection orders, or enhanced permitting, historical location data might support “reasonable suspicion” arguments or investigations. A single national network query can hit tens of thousands of cameras. ╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Event and Rally Surveillance Cameras or drones deployed near protests, rallies, or gatherings (pro- or anti-2A) could capture plates and video of attendees/vehicles. Documented precedent exists for Flock data being queried in connection with political demonstrations (e.g., various 2025 protests per EFF analysis of search logs). This could enable identification, follow-up stops, or later association with “extremism” databases if policies shift. ╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Selective Enforcement in Gun Control Jurisdictions In cities/states with strict laws (assault weapon bans, magazine limits, sensitive place restrictions, permitting hurdles), LPR data could identify vehicles linked to suspected violations (e.g., transport through prohibited areas, frequent out-of-state range trips). If paired with purchase records or social media, it lowers the cost of enforcement actions. ╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Data Aggregation and Mission Creep Flock’s network effect (many agencies opt in to national sharing) enables broad searches. Historical data (even with 30-day defaults in some cases) could be queried years later under new policies—e.g., national gun registration pushes, enhanced background checks, or vehicle-asset forfeiture. Documented examples of data used for immigration enforcement (thousands of ICE-related searches, including vague queries) show how local systems can feed federal priorities regardless of sanctuary policies. ╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Rogue or Politicized Actor Abuse Individual officers or agencies have already misused Flock for stalking ex-partners (many documented cases). A biased actor could query plates associated with known 2A figures, organizations, or frequent range visitors. Audit logs exist and have caught some misuse, but they are reactive. Leaks, FOIA in politicized environments, or integration with other systems amplify risks. ╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ Chilling Effect on Lawful Activity Widespread knowledge of pervasive tracking (20+ billion plate reads/month claimed) could discourage open carry, public range use, gun show attendance, or political expression if people reasonably fear logging and future targeting. This is a classic surveillance concern (4th Amendment adjacent), even without direct “targeting.” Documented Real-World Issues That Illustrate the Risk Privacy advocates (EFF, ACLU) and investigations (404 Media, lawsuits) have highlighted: • Use in tracking protesters and political activity. • Data sharing with ICE for immigration enforcement (even where local policy opposes it). • Officer stalking/harassment cases. • A Texas case where a search framed as “missing person” was allegedly tied to investigating an abortion. • Misreads leading to armed stops of innocents. • Lawsuits claiming 4th Amendment violations from warrantless dragnet tracking. • Some cities are canceling contracts over privacy and federal data-sharing concerns.

True story - Gotta love kids! I was sitting in the doctor’s office today when a woman brought in 3 kids, all aged 5 and under. Cartoons are playing on TV with the sound all the way down. When the oldest kid complains to his mother that he can’t hear anything on TV, the mother tells him to "use his imagination". The kid says, “Ok. I am going to imagine that he’s farting.”

A Flock Camera Error Ended With An Auto Journalist Detained By Police Over A "Stolen" Range Rover What could go wrong? Joel Feder (Director of Content at The Drive) and his wife were testing a $155,000 Range Rover press car when four Plymouth, MN police cruisers boxed them in at a strip mall parking lot. Officers jumped out with hands on guns, yelling commands. Why? #Flock AI license-plate cameras had been tracking them for days after flagging the New Jersey manufacturer plates as stolen. Let's start the week with another banger! PAGELAND, S.C. - Two #Flock Safety camera poles were intentionally cut down in Pageland, police said this weekend, as controversy over the cameras continues nationwide. On Sunday, July 5, the Pageland Police Department shared a photo of a Flock camera pole on the ground. Pageland police said two Flock cameras had been cut down in the Chesterfield County town, and called the act vandalism. Some people call it an act of heroism.

Will Flock CEO's Hyperbolic Rhetoric Damage Business? Hero Virginia Police Chief Tells Flock to Flock Off! In my previous post (x.com/GuerrillaBrain…), I pointed out that the Founder and CEO of @Flock_Safety refers to organizations like @therealDeFlock (and, in my opinion, by extension, everyone who opposes mass surveillance) as t3rr0r1sts. I further opined that his thought process is 100% Soviet-level surveillance disguised as "safety". Staunton, Virginia, recently canceled its Flock Safety ALPR contract. Not over technical failures. Not over cost. Not even primarily over the cameras themselves. They canceled it because the city’s leadership decided they “don’t agree with the ideology of the CEO.” Here’s How it Went Down On December 8, 2025, Flock founder and CEO Garrett Langley sent an unsolicited email to Staunton Police Chief Jim Williams. In it, Langley framed local opposition as a “coordinated attack” by “the same activist groups who want to defund the police, weaken public safety, and normalize lawlessness.” He accused them of producing “YouTube videos with misleading headlines” and “trying to turn a public records process into a weapon against you and against us.” Chief Williams replied politely but firmly: this wasn’t an “attack.” It was residents exercising their rights and raising real concerns about mass surveillance of private citizens, data sharing, and potential misuse. “These citizens have been exercising their rights to receive answers from me, my staff, and city officials, to include our elected leaders. In short, it is democracy in action.” The city then issued a public statement: “The City of Staunton wants to make it clear that the Flock Safety CEO’s narrative does not reflect the city’s values… Unfortunately, the city does not agree with the assessment as detailed by the CEO of Flock Safety.” They are removing the six cameras. Chief Williams is the hero of the story and should be praised for doing the right thing. The Hyperbolic Rhetoric Langley’s language is classic motte-and-bailey / existential framing: ⟢ Legitimate privacy, data security, and civil liberties concerns are collapsed into “defund the police”, “normalize lawlessness”, and “terrorism” ⟢ Local citizens asking questions become “activist groups” in a coordinated national campaign. Public records requests (a core democratic accountability tool) are recast as a “weapon.” ⟢ YouTube videos and resident organizing are treated as existential threats rather than normal political friction. This is not a careful, evidence-based defense of the technology. It’s a culture-war escalation. It paints anyone who wants limits on always-on license plate tracking as soft on crime by default. That may feel righteous inside the Flock bubble, but it’s radioactive outside it — especially in a city that had already reported success with the cameras and was only debating the terms. Flock is no longer just “the company with the cameras.” It is now the company whose founder treats democratic scrutiny as an enemy action. Privacy advocates now have a perfect quote to prove the company sees resistance as adversarial and even terroristic. #FLOCK Sources/Links in the comments ⤵️

Does @Flock_Safety Think You Are a T3rr0r1st? It Sure Sounds Like It. Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Flock is sold as "safety". And if you don't like the safety they are selling, you are a bad person with bad intentions, if you believe the narrative. In the video below, the Founder and CEO of @Flock_Safety refers to organizations like @therealDeFlock (and in my opinion, by extension, everyone who opposes mass surveillance) as t3rr0r1sts. LISTEN to his words to understand what he thinks of you if you oppose mass surveillance disguised and sold as "safety". I would tell you to visit his X account and leave a comment, but he doesn't allow comments on his posts. Typical of people with his mindset and character. ╰┈➤ It would be a damn shame if everyone who opposes mass surveillance knew what he thinks of them. ᯓ➤ You know what to do! 🔄 And remember - When ANYONE tells you they are doing something "for your safety", be prepared to fight like hell! #FLOCK_CAMERAS
