We replaced dev tools w/ subscriptions. Now your ability to build depends on a pricing page.. that never sat right with me. So I built foxforge-code, a local-first AI coding assistant that runs on your machine with models you control.

AI won’t replace humans. But it will expose them.

@jun_song If your workbench is non existent or weak, this is true. With proper routing you can get a lot done with smaller models in specialist roles.

If you see posts like "$500 mini PC running local LLMs" it's a scam. Right now, the absolute bare minimum to run an actually productive local LLM is 24GB VRAM or 32GB Unified Memory (Mac). Anything below that is literally just a toy chatbot. At least for now. Just give it a few months.

Ahmad@TheAhmadOsman

This is Alex Finn He’s costed so many people their hard earned money during his Mac mini grift Now he’ll reuse the same script for the DGX Spark He doesn’t know how to highlight any hardware strengths/weaknesses Zero substance or knowledge of local AI Go grift something else

@TriCast_ Calling yourself a founder comes across as inauthentic to anyone who isn’t also calling themselves a founder because they made a few web apps. If you want customers, don’t market yourself in a way that only appeals to an echo chamber which has no potential clients

I trained my first model on a 3090 in WSL 500M over a couple days The key is to just do stuff and learn, you don’t have to follow all these autistic rules

@elite_developer They’re selling stories not truths. Most vibe coders didn’t touch code before AI.

@0xSero I’m doing open source research on a new memory paradigm I’ve introduced called Context Accumulation Generation to enable more people to run usable runtimes with long lasting memory on consumer hardware. Would love your take.

This is just the icing on top of the most amazing life I could have imagined. 10 years ago I had less than nothing, I was homeless and hooked on so many chemicals my brain didn’t work. I’m not ashamed of it either, more people should realise that life is whatever you make it

I just received a 100,000$ grant from the Human Rights Foundation. In total I received: - 100K USD through HRF - 25.8K USD through donations site - 25K Brev credits through Nvidia - 4x B200s for a month - 5K from lambda - 4x RTX PRO 6000 private donor Open source must win

@Taniyatweets_ Because the cheap plans just enough to make you need the more expensive plan. Why take revenue off the table with a consumer friendly option?

Why is there no middle tier between $20 and $100 for Claude and Codex? Feels like a $50 plan would instantly become the sweet spot for most users.

anthropic just downgraded claude code subs programmatic usage previously used your full rate limits which was something like a 5-10X discount vs api costs now ALL programmatic usage is capped at $20/$100/$200 in api costs (a single opus session can easily burn $20) not good
ClaudeDevs@ClaudeDevs

Starting June 15, paid Claude plans can claim a dedicated monthly credit for programmatic usage. The credit covers usage of: - Claude Agent SDK - claude -p - Claude Code GitHub Actions - Third-party apps built on the Agent SDK

anthropic literally fucking disgusts me i said this before and i’ll say it again they hate developers their marketing and legal teams write the most intentionally misleading copy and rules they sell dumpster fires as wins to the clueless and they’re getting away with it lmao never been happier to have canceled my subscription

@ibuildthecloud Coding assistants need guardrails. By default, they want to please the user and validate their results in their own way. It’s okay for shitty web apps, but you can’t plain English give code an actual system unless it’s routed and talked to like it’s an actual engineer.

I swear do you guys just all write simple applications or something? Because AI is failing me. It absolutely sucks at distributed state management. I have gotten into this complete mess and now I have got to manually clean it up.
