@NYRLouie Pettersson makes sense with either fox or gavrikov, probably gavrikov is a better fit although Pettersson moves and passes the puck to his partner a lot . Fox could make sense but does Pettersson has what it takes to the on the top line..I am not sold on That

Things I Want To See From NYR Lineup: 1. Pettersson with Fox. Play Fox next to someone who can move the puck efficiently. You’ll have long OZ shifts and get the best Fox you’ve ever gotten 2. Šmits cannot be paired with Schneider. If he’s not Top 4, he should be Top Pair in the AHL 3. Bjorkstrand to try left wing. Bjorkstrand can shoot the puck. Get him rushing down the side where his forehand is in the slot. Play him Laf and JT 4. Gabe next to Doro. Best passer next to best finisher. Play them a ton with Fox-a Pettersson and Mika in the middle. You’ll have insane possession metrics along with some high end finishing 5. Cuylle/Laba/Kartye is still a fun line that can’t really drive play but is stout defensively and will forecheck the hell out of the puck. Would love to see Laba play on puck more, his zone entries in preseason stood out but that didn’t translate to season 6. NO REMPE #NYR

@AthanP13 @MasonW4636344 Getting a mid to bad backup with a $3mil salary for 2 years and giving up a 4th round pick for him isn’t ideal. Korpi was pretty bad last year and we could have given Garand a shot instead. Now Garand can’t be sent down without have to clear waivers so let’s see how it goes…

I am not even a doom and gloomer I am not a Veleno fan but $1.2M for 1 year isn’t world ending, he plays defense and skates fast. If someone outplays him, it can be buried But But even if we had zero goalies on the roster, trading real assets for Korpisalo is a bad trade Like you can’t rationalize that #NYR

@rowansrangers31 @vzmercogliano If you have an RFA, you give them a “qualifying offer” in order to maintain your rights of matching any contract offered to them by another team. Rangers have no interest in keeping the guy, so they won’t be doing this.

The Rangers have traded Adam Edstrom, who struggled with injury and lost his spot in the lineup last season, to Nashville for center Massimo Rizzo and the 148th pick. Rizzo, 25, has never played in the NHL. An RFA, a source said he won't be qualified by the Rangers.

Benjamin MacBeath is a solid pick by the Rangers, even if not the top of my list. They need defensemen who can skate, and he can absolutely skate. He plays a smart game. Second-pairing upside.
