At the Conference on 'Energy Storage – Driving the Clean Energy Transition', held today at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, a panel discussion on 'R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Safety of Advanced Chemistry Battery Technologies' was chaired by Shri Srikant Nagulapalli, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power. During the discussion panelists emphasized accelerating R&D into advanced battery chemistries (lithium-ion, solid-state etc.), improving safety standards, and enhancing manufacturing capacity. They called for strong local supply chains for critical materials (e.g. cathode, anode, electrolytes), incentives for domestic production, and risk frameworks to ensure battery safety. Discussion were also held on scaling pilot projects, technology transfer, lifecycle assessments, and regulatory clarity to build consumer & investor confidence. #MNRE #EnergyStorage #RenewableEnergy #SolarEnergy #storage
