November 30, 1969 #TAMPA'S FIRST REGULAR-SEASON PRO FOOTBALL GAME In an effort to showcase Tampa, Florida as a potentially viable expansion market for professional football, Tampa Stadium hosts an AFL matchup between the Boston #Patriots and Miami #Dolphins — a 38-23 Pats victory. Opened in 1967, the stadium had previously played host to several AFL and NFL preseason exhibition contests, but never one in the regular season. Patriots owner Billy Sullivan was also entertaining the possibility of eventually relocating his franchise to Tampa. Though the game was blacked out on local television, a smaller-than-expected crowd of 32,121 attended the contest. However, the venue and market earned positive reviews from the media and the #NFL/AFL brass. Five years later, in 1974, the city of Tampa was granted an expansion franchise — later named the #Buccaneers, who would begin play in 1976.

@GulfsterReport @gregauman They don’t have to wait 21 days…once taken off of IR, they have 21 days to activate them. Theoretically, if they practiced this week, they could play this Sunday.

Todd Bowles said Jalen McMillan and Mike Evans could return to practice this week. Not necessarily playing immediately — he said McMillan had to adjust to wearing a helmet to see how strong his neck is as he recovers.
